The other segment of fans that are pro-Patriots, despite their state's preference, are internet fan homers of the NFC West teams. I've been to a few after the NFCCG, and all I got was how we didn't deserve to be there. I disagreed on one site kind of strongly, and haven't gone back and may be banned...lol.

Say "Vataha" to a Patriot fan and see if you get a blank stare out of them.

I live in the same place @CGI_Ram does. He can attest to this. A lot of Pats fans here. We're right next to Maine so basically Canadian New England. Saw a lot of Pats fans at the hockey game tonight lol. That said, everyone who isn't a Pats fans seems to be no board. An old colleague texted me saying fuck the pats this morning lol. Hadn't talked to him in over a year.

Polls are often way off because of their small sample size.

I can tell you in North Texas the Cowboys fans I know secretly hate the Rams. The Jealousy runs deep.

First we go to Dallas and beat them in their place in 2017, then in 2018 we manhandle them in the playoffs in which they thought they were the better team.

A major toll sign is week read " If a Ram Interferes with your car call 911"

Seattle and Arizona probably has lots of hate for us as well.

Because Goff vs Wentz.

And that is the dumbest reason to root against someone. What's the rationale? We got the better QB, you didn't? Why hate on the Rams for that? Each team supposedly got the guy that they wanted. Then again most of the people in North Dakota are Vikings fans, so I can't credit them with having sound logic. The all have permanent brain freeze.

Louisianna pulling for Patriots. Man they are whiners.,

no worries, i wouldnt root for new orleans regardless. well, okay, maybe seattle. i liked them better as the Aints. surprised the map shows missouri rooting for the rams figuring the st louis factor. chief fans must be adding to the total.

Just to be clear those are nothing more than your opinions

I live here and disagree with virtually your entire “rant”

Cheers!
And I want to be clear.

I excluded the fans on this board for obvious reasons. No doubts whatsoever about our loyalty.

But the people of L.A.? When the local radio station gives minimal coverage during Super Bowl week and more people tune in to watch the AFC title game than the NFC, with their home team in it?

Yeah, I'd say the city doesn't deserve the team.

Yes, that is an opinion, but viewership numbers are not... and that's sad.

I was listening to the radio and there seems to be a fair amount of who do we hate more, the pats cuz they’re the Pats or the Rams cuz of the call or non call.

Been wearing my Warner jersey around town all week and one guy who was a Pats fan said they were gonna win, but every single other person has said our Rams were gonna win or the last two days that our Rams HAVE TO win.

Packer fans, Bucs fans, doesn’t matter.

One guy said to me today, “you better win!” Like I was McVay or something!

I don’t think I’m unique in this regard.

Pretty sure there will be a significantly larger NE fan presence than LA. But it won't matter, as it'll mainly be corporate people.

Simply put, LA doesn't care about the Rams.

Don't get all up-in-arms - you fans on this board. You are the minority when it comes to LA.

Every single day, on my way home, I've tuned into ESPN LA. Every freaking single day, it's Lebron and/or the NBA. Now, they're obsessed with that kid from NO perhaps going to LA. Frankly, I hope he doesn't. I hope he screws them and goes to BOS.

I've had to resort to listening to the SAN DIEGO sports station to get some Super Bowl/Rams coverage.

Want to hear something obscene? The TV ratings in LA for the AFC Championship game were better than the NFC Championship game!!!!!!!:puke:

Ponder that for a second... the NE/KC game brought in more LA viewers than the LA/NO game.

I'm sorry (and all fans on this board nonwithstanding!!!)... LA doesn't deserve the Rams. They can have their NBA and MLB.

The Mighty 1190 guys said something along the lines of how the Rams would have to work on winning the fans over... and that the Chargers might as well resign themselves that it'll never happen.

The Rams have to win these fans over? Apparently, going to the Super Bowl isn't enough. They don't deserve this team!

So... don't count on a big Rams fan presence there... I suspect the crowd will be mainly agnostic... mostly corporate folks who are there for the halftime show.

/rant over/

For the 100th time

LA didn't demand the NFL return, Kroenke moved for a power move and to have a venue that would be state of the art that would also host many things besides the NFL, mission accomplished

Greater LA area has 18 million people filled with transplants from all over the country, when the Rams moved to OC then the midwest, no NFL teams were here for a generation. Yes, there are band wagoners, but fans don't simply switch allegiances because a team moves. Most fandom doesn't work that way. The opposing fans are people who bought tickets on the secondary market and reside here. They also could never see their team play in LA for a generation. Ton of fans from opposing teams and transplants, LA will always have opposing fans. Even a flagship MLB team like the Dodgers with a huge fan base, go look at their playoff series against Boston and Chicago last few years, plenty of opposing fans. Rams' fan growth will continue over years.

ESPN 710 is a Lakers channel primarily. Most of the people there are ass hats number 1, but the Lakers are a flagship sports franchise like the Cowboys or Yankees. Lakers currently suck and they had a ton of fans cheering for them last night against the GSW in Oracle, loudest venue in the league. 40 years of history and domination aren't going to get tossed away because of 5 bad years.

Lastly, given the number of sold out games, the fact they sold out a relocated KC game in 24 hours, the fact season tickets are hard to get in the new pad. All proves that LA is a successful NFL market and considering the NFL is going to be moving a ton of it's corporate crap there, they agree

Yes, that is an opinion, but viewership numbers are not... and that's sad.

Your dismissal of LA's worthiness to have a team is simplistic and short-sighted.

And by the way: Has LA ever deserved a team? Just want to be sure.

For many of us, when that treacherous witch Frontiere decimated our Rams to reduce attendance so she could bail on us--many of us felt betrayed. A huge kick in the balls. Like a girlfriend we stuck with, despite never winning a SB. But she up and bailed with another guy back to her home town.

Many people said fuck that bitch, and started following other teams. Others, like my dad and me only liked the Rams--no one else, but they bailed on us, so we just stopped watching all together. The young kids who came of age after the Rams left here were left to choose from other teams--steelers, whiners, shithawks, cowpies, whoever, and they stuck with them, creating a lost generation of LA football fans, who grew up and passed their teams on to their kids, how it's usually done. The steeler fan down the street has three kids--all steeler fans.

Now the Rams come back in 20 years later, and what do people expect, old girlfriend comes back home and what? Dump our new girlfriends because a beat-up old flame is back? And all the people who flock from all over the country to live in SoCal should suddenly stop loving their Packers, Giants, Steelers, etc? It doesn't work that way. You should know that. It's gonna take years, maybe a generation to rebuild our fan base.

And my two teenagers are the building block generation. It'll start with them. They didn't experience the betrayal and they don't give a shit. They just like Gurley and Goff and Donald and those badass helmets (sound familiar, people? (y)) Then they'll pass it along to their kids, and tell them how Vince Ferragamo came and talked to their school, and so it'll go.

That's what it's gonna take--a slow, gradual rebuilding. Slowly winning people back in this complex, sprawling city of southern, midwestern, east coast, PNW and international expats. That's the simple reality.

(And btw, it doesn't hurt that the old flame is looking pretty fucking hot lately )
