Definitely looking forward to seeing the young DB’s and OL.

Would also love to see Tutu tear it up.

I really wasn't expecting to come away from a preseason game thinking I'd be re-evaluating my thoughts on the WR group... but.. McCutcheon.
I mean... he looked like a starter playing against backups. Big target, long arms, hand catcher who attacks the ball.. strong and fast enough. What the hell??? Lol... I mean... I like the way he goes after the ball a lot better than Van... and Stafford loves guys who can attack the ball. He looked good enough that I think, if he can be a big contributor on teams, that he could be in a fight for the 5th or 6th WR spot.
So, that was a big surprise for me and a real pleasant one.

So, Bruss... looks like he has a lot of work to do.
Alaric Jackson had at least one bad rep.. but showed well, otherwise.. and looks intriguing on the inside at guard.
Arcuri looks like a rookie.. but I don't think he was bad.
Anchrum looked good to me at left guard, am I alone on that? He seemed solid.
Hardy showed some flashes of real ability.. he's definitely small.. but explosive.
Whitley looks like he might be able to play.
Bobby Brown flashed and showed some effort. Hopefully ankle is minor.. he's got plenty of time to heal, anyway. I think he's a guy that will make an impact at some point.

Kendrick looks like a baller.. Durant looks small.

Oh.. Burgess... Well... he looks like he's in danger of getting cut.

Perkins is a fun preseason guy who absolutely, 100% does not have an NFL arm. Nope. I know he's fun, but there's a reason Wolford isn't taking a snap in the preseason... he's WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY ahead of Perkins, and it's not even close.

And Perkins lack of arm strength and inability to run the regular offense is another reason we won't see Tutu out there.. there's nothing to learn about Tutu in that offense and nothing to gain if you've seen him make it happen in practices.

Agreed that Perkins doesn't seem to have an NFL arm. Fun to watch him scramble and make plays, though. But the hype over him last year was overdone IMHO.

Is McCutcheon ahead of Harris now? Part of decision making has to be based on who, if cut, would be claimed by another team... McCutcheon today looked like a guy ya can't cut.

Bruss with one embarrassing play, but otherwise how was he?

Hardy with some nice moves.

Tutu has played so damn well in practice they won't let us watch him in preseason.

"Starters won't play and important backups won't play either." Hey McVay, thanks for winning us a Super Bowl and all, but you've taken the fun out of preseason.

I'm curious to look at Bruss when he's lined up in between Allen and Havenstein. Having a right side of two rookies makes it harder to evaluate both of them IMO.

I'm really going to be arguing with myself about McCutcheon, lol.
I just saw a guy I think I would regret getting away from the team. He didn't look like a UDFA. If you had told me he was a high 2nd rounder, I would believe it.
I'll be watching closely, but.. man, I'd have a hard time keeping Jacob Harris over him.

I'm not a good enough evaluator to know how well Bruss did, other than the embarrassing play. But Anchrum looked VERY solid to me at guard.

Random thing I saw that I liked... Rochell.
Looks like he's growing into the job.. made a nice open field tackle.

This. Posters were happy to bash his mistakes in the GDT. I'm not panicking after 1 preseason game, as long as he learns from the mishaps he'll be okay. Wouldn't be surprised to see improvement over next 2 games. Former boss told me (and I agreed) that you learn from mistakes, not nec when you get it right. So Bruss will continue learning and perhaps one day hopefully will become as solid as Hav.

Funny as that is, for a long time the months leading up to the Draft and the preseason were the highlights, and the regular seasons were no fun.

Anchrum was good at LT, I believe he took some good reps there. I noticed he finished blocks well. That's something Evans needs to do. Play to the whistle, finish your blocks.

Honestly Evans looks a bit out of football shape. I saw him flopping around a couple times yesterday, that's an indicator of being out of shape.

Yeah, I think Evans is done with the Rams. Jackson and Anchrum looked, to me, to be the backups other than Bruss. I feel better about Anchrum than I did after preseason last year and am starting to think he could develop into a starter.

Yeah, I believe the only way Perkins makes the 53 this year is if the concern for Stafford's arm (tendinitis) remains high. I'd love Perkins to get a pre-season game with Wolford starting as QB and he (Perkins) comes in as a situational RB.

I don't believe you would have to cut Harris if you don't want to, just move him onto the PUP list as an injured player and place him on the IR mid-season, at least he'd have an opportunity to make the 2023 team.

Tutu may get some playing time in if they use Wolford in one these two remaining pre-season games. jmo.
