Verse - He has been good, we need a 10+ sack “dominant” season. Better CB play seems to have set him up for a big year.

Ferguson - 12/13 personnel is banking one of our two young TE’s step up.

Any WR - Someone needs to emerge as our #3.

Matthew Stafford
DaVante Adams
Terrance Ferguson

Stafford won the MVP, but he missed on some throws to Ferguson and Adams.
And Adams dropped too many passes.

Hopefully, a good offseason will further get these guys gelling.

Late to the party but here goes:
1 Myles Garrett. He's a Ram now. How great would it be to see him break his own record? Would you all not be entertained?
2 Forbes - I have hopes that he can improve and lock down our backfield. With the new additions, he won't be asked to cover the other team's best and I actually thought he played with some physicality that defied his slight frame. Build on that and let's see offenses pass on us.
3 Fergy - I am not sure I'm really banking on it but I would love to see the former Duck EXPLODE out of the gate this year and become a real target for Stafford.
Honorable mention: Fiske - I really liked what I saw from him as a rookie and now I want to see him not only show that last season was an anomaly but that he really is that inside threat.

I expect the Rams to move Garrett around from a hand down DE to a stand up Edge rusher....if AD comes back and is even 70% of his old self....

I think everyone has fingers crossed for Forbes. I think the Rams may carry 4 CBs or may only carry 3 on game day with Lake and Wallace ability to play a dime coverage role as well.
It will be interesting. I would like to see some mixed coverages as well.
However it is broken down a good year for Forbes would be a huge plus for the Rams and himself. The top 2 CBs have been massively improved in my opinion, that 3rd CB spot is still a question mark. I like Forbes a lot and he does have some first round traits. He just needs to put it together. Having some better tackling CBs may help him cover for his own lack of physicality. Hopefully not being in a spot like he was last year, matched up with a 1, will help his success/confidence as well.

I agree with Fiske as well.
Fun player and good player inside. Occasionally gets blown up in the run game but that is unavoidable, especially for a guy who is not 350 lbs. I will be interesting to see the affect Garrett has on all these guys, but, Turner and Fiske in particular.

Fiske for me as well -- has great potential. But the addition of MG complicates the D-Line. Sometimes adding a great player who isn't a scheme fit can be disruptive -- I'm not saying it will be, but could be.
For example, when & where does Fiske play? all 3 downs? passing downs only? We now have 2 true NT's -- if MG is one of the DE's, Turner is the other, and Ford is the NT... where does Fiske play? This means that if we play an NT at all, MG has to bump out to OLB for Fiske to play. How's his TE coverage??
otoh, if we don't use an NT, Fiske has a role in passing downs, and in 4th Q situations where we're playing with a lead & then you can roll with MG, Fiske, Turner, & Young. (and Stewart if we rush 5.)
I guess I'm saying that, overall, I want to see Fiske take the next step & get a lot of snaps this season but it's looking like he might only be in during certain situations.

So for those that picked Verse - umm you need to pick another player lol
Well actually, those of us who wanted some improvement from Verse's, got it. So #1 asked for and received. Now we will have to wait on Fergy and Forbes.

I want to see one of our two backup QB's take a step up. Surprised to realize Bennett is 28 and turning 29 this season. Seems like it's now or never for him to show something.
Fiske needs to have a strong season or he may be a high floor low ceiling type.
Hoping that Stewart has a strong season at Edge. Not sure how good he can be but hoping for the best.

I think Garrett will move from DE to Edge and be moved around.
A front of Turner, Ford, Fiske, with Young and Garrett at Edge....Fiske out, Garrett at DE etc.
The advantages of having a pliable front are real. There can be issues with everyone getting snaps, but, I think that will be dealt with well. Have a TRUE rotation up front is huge advantage, especially late in games.

Ford, Davis at NT
Turner, Hamilton at DT
Fiske, Murchison at DE
Garrett, Johnson at ROLB
Young, Stewart at LOLB

That is how the Rams have their depth chart listed now.

Garrett is capable of playing at DE or outside, Johnson is capable of snaps at DE, Davis is capable of snaps at DT as well.
I think the Rams have a versatile group that by moving pieces around and mixing up match ups can cause a lot of issues with everyone still getting snaps.

Great comment. Davis can indeed play DT... but I'm hoping Keenan II becomes our true NT "understudy" for Ford. Davis just isn't a true NT, neither is Turner or Hamilton or Fiske, though we tried plugging them in there when Ford was out for a while. Keenan II will be invaluable as a rotation player to spell Ford. It just seemed our whole D played better when we had an NT plugging the middle.
and just wait 'til you see our "anti-tush push" D-Line packages... with Ford AND Keenan side-by-side...

Fiske, Ferguson and Stewart for me.

If those three can become star-caliber players, our team just gets that much better. And all three of them have legitimate shots to do so.

Garrett replaces Verse on the edge. 81% of his snaps with Cleveland were in the wide 9 alignment.

I expect the DL rotation of Turner, Ford, Fiske, and the depth to stay the same in their snap allotment.

On Fiske specifically, 70% of his snaps were already on pass rushing downs. He's not good at run defense so that probably won't change.

Garrett will play OLB but his hand will be in the ground a bunch. He may play some 3-4 DE too but that's a different position than 4-3 DE (think JJ Watt).

There are a number of times 3-4 units played with one OLB's hand in the ground ala Wade Philips and Bilicheat (at different iterations of it).

This is just an educated guess but they'll def tinker around a lot with him but again expect him at OLB but with hand on ground majority of time.
