I think there is a real chance the Lions are desperately trying to move up to get a OT. Their line has taken a big hit this season. There could be a good one at our pick. I'd be very comfortable moving down to 17 and see which WR drops to us. Worst case, Cooper Jr and he isn't much of a drop off.
Fields feels like he's gonna go off in that 20s range to a playoff team. Maybe that's a reach, but it's just a feeling I have on him based on how much Senior Bowl hubbub he got where I suspect a Green Bay or Pittsburgh go get him. But there's no doubt if he's on that board at our 2nd round pick he's in play, assuming we didn't already address X.
Lane's worst element is his strength vs the jam, they're gonna muscle him year one. But with Davante, Puka, and that staff coaching him up he feels like maybe he could reach that upside.
There's so many nice wideouts in that range though. I just want a young talent out there who can magnify Stafford's gambling tendency to give his dudes a chance.
I do wonder what the Rams do if Freeling is sitting there on the board. I think he's the tackle who benefits from the top guys having short arms. He showed some good things and could step right in to that swing OT role for us.

Me too, not sure where they end up slotting in draft wise but due to the depth at that position they may both be there in the 3rd.
13 will tell us a lot
That feels high to me, of course nobody really knows if there will be a run on the position creating anxiety pick or there will be a team as you imply that loves him. I think he is around 10 - 15 on the WR board, where that puts him round wise who knows.
The WR draft is going to be fun, I do sense there will be a point of where "panic" happens once a team prioritizing 1 or 2 of these guys they think they can get goes off the board and they are sitting there white knuckling.
You’re probably right and if so he’s not worth the pick. Especially when this draft is so deep at WR. You can get a good one like Fields (potentially), Lane, etc at 61.
For me, when I say medicals check out, I mean 100% behind him and the rams docs are very confident about it.
At 13, I really just want a stud, impact player. I don’t care what position he plays honestly.

Honestly, I want to come away with two WRs from this draft if we can. But... I think we have something in Mumpfield and if he can pack some size on without losing his agility he could end up being a 4th receiver and a very useful player. So one receiver might suffice.
After going through that pain with Gurley, I’d rather not suffer through that again.
My hope is trade down with a LT needy team. Freeling is pretty raw and not ready to step in this year. Just my opinion on him though. He has the tools for the future though.
He's not raw in pass pro, which is the priority in projecting a rookie tackle to a swing role for us. The dude was one of the best pass pro tackles in college ball. He could undoubtedly step in day one for us and survive. He'd be a thousand percent better than any swing tackle we've had in that role day one. Protecting Stafford is the priority and the swing role allows him that dev time to some extent for his run blocking.
Unfortunately both of the top OTs in this class have short arms. Freeling is going to benefit from that. Been seeing a lot of mocks with him going crazy high, so there's a chance he's off the board.
If he's there, though, I certainly would not rule him out. He's got the feet and frame for the blindside and the Rams never draft high enough for those boys.
If the medicals check out, and they reportedly did, I don't see why it should. It's part of the game.
I already do that with Puka, so it'll be nothing new. And yet, I am fine with that because Puka is a star. End of the day, if you're getting a top talent at #13, it's because there's some risk. I accept the risk. Cost of doing business.
I like Fields too. If the Rams go defense at #13, do you think Fields makes it to #61? Or at least close enough to trade up a few spots for him?
Most of the other WRs mentioned on this thread are not gonna get near #61 and I think the Rams could still be in the market for a WR at #61 if they don’t grab one at #13.
Yes, we suffered greatly watching Gurley dominate the league. How did we live through it?

Tyson is probably the best WR in this draft when healthy. It makes some sense.
