Longacre. I understand Trinca-Pasat, because it's pretty deep on the interior DL.
But I thought Longacre had a shot. Especially when you consider how often GW rotates his DE's inside.

Has to be LTP. I wanted him to make this roster along with Westbrooks. I really hope that we don't lose him.

LTP and Dunbar were my big surprises. Jones to a lesser extent.

LTP seemed like a Fisher kind of guy and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Dunbar just because I thought he was versatile and knows the defense. Hopefully that means we have just improved at that position. Bryce Hager could be a great grab if he can back up JL and possibly beef up a bit while maintaining his speed and agility.

Pasat should have made the team. Not impressed with Westbrookd as a DT. And not sure he'd ever be a starting DE either.

Isaiah Battle.

I'm pleasantly surprised that the organization didn't keep him over someone who outperformed him.

What I never understood was all the interest in Battle to begin with...what am or was I missing? This guy got more print and interest on this blog as an obscure linemen I can ever recall.

Barrett Jones.
Jo Lon hasn't made many plays since getting busted for PED's and there's some new blood among the LB core.

Dunbar wasn't much of a surprise. They signed somebody to be the starter on his side anyway, there were several young guys impressing who could take over part of his job, and he was relatively expensive, without really performing well for a while.

Jones surprised me a little, because I'd figured that Fisher would go for the most cerebral on the line, but he's never gotten the strength to play in the NFL, between the foot injury and then the back surgery.

I knew the third center would be up against Wichmann for the last roster spot, no way they were going to keep 3 centers. The team is better off for having Wichmann over the third center, but it really surprised me the loser was Jones because his play improved greatly over the last few games you could see the improvement game to game.

But I do trust Boudreau's judgment so not gonna second guess them.

The one that I saw coming that I did not like was Bayer. I still think he brings something different to this group called sure hands. Kendricks hands are much better now and all but IMO none of the TEs come close to Bayer in just the pass catching side of things. I have a feeling he might get a real look with the Chargers we will see.

Other than that this team really put some good players on the streets this year. So it's gotta mean good things for us right?

Trinca-Pasat because I thought he played lights out in the pre-season.
Jones because I thought he might have been finally staying healthy and getting it.
Battle because of the supplemental pick used and all the "potential" praise dumped on him.

Surprised at B.Jones, thought he'd get the nod because his pass-pro seemed to be the better of the 3 and he seemed to be improving quickly the more games he was playing and by all accounts he was quite clever on the line, also surprised at Battle - was that just a dumb call to bring him in and use up one of our picks from next year?

I'm actually less impressed with our DT depth. We have to have Donald and Brockers play 16 games for us. The drop off is severe.

Not to me. I'm perfectly okay with Nick Fairley and Ethan Westbrooks.
Plus we still have Trinca-Pasat on the PS if need be.

Barrett Jones! By a far margin.

First let me say I am Very happy :banana:happy for Tim Barnes. I have had no doubts since he was signed that he was the best center option that Boudreau have. I expect him to produce our best play from center since the healthy Andy McCollum days.(y)

Jones spent the majority of his 2015 involved in winning only the center position. Jones was not permitted to show off his versatility @ OG or OLT??:bueller:

I watched Barrett closely in the 4 pre season games & was of the opinion that he was close to Barnes & far ahead of Rhaney. What the heck did I miss? I am really confused  with this release.

Barrett must of had some strong lingering issues with his surgically/Lisfranc & rehab & his surgically repaired bad back to possibly cause long tern concerns. Those back to back surgeries were bound to cause issues in strength conditioning his first two season in the NFL. I am of the opinion that we will find out the real story later on on Barrett Jones.

Now onto Rhaney ....who must have shown much more in practice because I did not see it on the field during the game. I am very uncomfortable :notsure: currently with Rhaney as our only other center (Maybe Cody Wichmann will get some OC action as the season goes on). Otherwise I predict that Snead will add better reserve center talent in the draft in 2016 to challenge Rhaney. After saying this Meanwhile I sincerely hope Demetrius Rhaney shoves this paragraph down my throat this season proving me wrong:snicker:.

Not to me. I'm perfectly okay with Nick Fairley and Ethan Westbrooks.
Plus we still have Trinca-Pasat on the PS if need be.

I would add that the interior DL is even bolstered by the fact that both William Hayes & Eugene Sims play the interior very good. So IMO we are in outstanding shape. If Fairley does not work out well backing up Brockers @ NT then we will let him try UFA'cy again give the big man Worthington a try & draft a NT in the 2016 draft.

Why does everybody keep wondering this? We knew all along the guy needed time. He's still on the team. If we didn't use a pick in the supplemental, whose to say he would have picked to come to the rams? Assuming he would have gotten more interest afterwards. We used a fifth round pick. Big damn deal. If he turns out a solid starter some day or even solid backup, then it's worth it. If not, who gives a shit? It's a fifth round pick. Not exactly a luxury pick.

Because we OD'd on o-line picks this year, surely the coaching staff are expecting them to be starters for years to come - he can easily be signed off our PS.

One with round pick next year is better than no fifth round pick next year, especially when we're a team far from being full of elite players...

Just saying' is all...

Well they'd have to pay for him first.

That, and any team who wants him on will HAVE to sign him to their 53 man roster. If he's too raw to land on a Rams O-line that's pretty much all question marks I don't think any other team is going to be rushing to snatch him up. Also the Rams have the option of making room for him on their 53 man roster and simply plucking him up before anybody can take him.

Don't know why everyone keeps acting like we got caught with our pants down, the Rams have put more thought into this than we have and have shown more commitment to keeping Battle than people are giving them credit for.

Its because they spent so much getting him and gave him so little time! Its like they were drunk when they made the pick in the supplemental draft or something.

Just seen they got him on the practice squad though - so it worked out ok!

All understood, and I can see someone taking him off our PS, we were asked by the OP which cuts surprised the most, Battle was one of mine, unsure why everyone is chomping at the bit to disagree with me, it's just my opinion after all - I was surprised that they went out of their way to sign the guy in the supplemental and risk him on the PS but I guess we've got a good track record with getting raw o-line men up to speed ;)

But with my marketing head on - Battle on the back of a shirt should shift some too :p
