I am going to have to say J Lo Dunbar. I thought at least he would be kept for depth. Why does it seem that we are always thin at linebacker depth?

Dunbar surprised me too.

Then again, maybe his release is an indicator our depth is improved?

Jones surprised me most. Jo Lonn was slipping and last year was a shell of his former self. The Rams brought in a replacement thru FA and plugged Ayers in from the start. With Barron in play, there just didn't seem to be a lot of room for Dunbar. Jones was a different matter altogether. The Rams gave him to redshirt years to heal, get stronger and learn their system; presumably to all but hand Jones a starting spot. I guess they just got tired of waiting after seeing no real progress over 3 training camps. That's why I chose Jones. Battle is the second most surprising to me.

I guess I'm surprised that none of the cuts actually surprise me

Trinca-Pasat shocked me the most. Going over the roster it was hard to see all 3 Cs make the squad, and with Rhaney's play at OG it was either a starting position for Jones or Barnes, or unemployment. As for Dunbar, he hasn't done much since 2012 and some of the cheaper younger guys flashed some promise.

The guy I wish they hadn't have cut way Bryant. We have too many quality safeties for him to make it though.

Isaiah Battle.

I'm pleasantly surprised that the organization didn't keep him over someone who outperformed him.

Battle simply for the pick spent and initially he showed in practice he was gonna impress, especially with his size and that bubble butt is gonna need some work in the gym and track, stadium running, . I thought Coach Fisher said he was'nt even gonna worry about him this year as it would be a Red Shirt Year. Now he's gone and we don't know if they saw all that they needed too or made it harder for him to be picked up with that money you have to pay to aquire him. Maybe some good thinking for this risk and Lord knows he's not ready yet. He should be back in Horns by the end of the day,

I'm thinkin. With the signing of Ayers and a late find in Hager who still needs a year of a Pro training regime (Muscle) plus dude hustles and is everywhere, plus Cam Lynch really wraps up on tackles and plays (ST) and obviously Bates is gonna get a clean bill of health buy his signing & add JL and Ogletree and that does'nt look thin at LB to me. WOW! That's (6). What team can afford to carry more?

With the release of Pasat and Longacre we proved we are at another level and I want McGee (CB) back and we really need another (NT) type run stuffer DT when Brockers is resting (Hopefully his shoulder holds out) as our other DT's are light in the pants. Really gonna miss E. J. Gaines and he is too hard to replace with a final cut. We still may surprise with our (4) CB's if all stay healthy and we get a healthy McGee back (finally).

I've got two.

Barrett Jones. I'm glad we've finally moved on here. We don't have a legitimate center in my mind. So start the guy with experience (Barnes) and keep the one (Rhaney) who can play guard too. Make sure C is a priority next year. I agree wholeheartedly with this cut, I've never understood why we've kept him so long in the first place. But I am shocked that they let him go.

Dunbar. We get an injury at LB it's going to be trouble. Thin every year at this position. I'd have kept him just for the knowledge of the D. It's not like we have a high to mid range draft pick waiting for a shot behind the top 3 so I'd have went with the experience. But I also admit that I haven't watched the games as close as usual this year for various reasons so I'm not sure who has flashed in a special teams role.

I am also glad the team didn't hand him a spot due to draft status. You got to earn your way on the roster.

LTP was my only real surprise. I thought he was a good penetrator, which seems to be what Fisher favors on the DLine. I liked Longacre too but not at over Hayes and Simms, despite all the forumites suggesting Simms be cut. I never bought that he was a liability.

I was not surprised that Barrett Jones got cut. He was a good college linemen surrounded by total college studs. They made him look better than he was. I didn't like him in round 4 even if he wasn't injured. He was soft. He was always soft and slow. He is not an NFL football player. Some guys just cannot transition to the NFL. I guess that guy was right saying that Barrett was a breakout player this year. He broke right out of the team and maybe out of the NFL.

Trinca-Pasat for me I agree with @FRO, we only have 1 other guy in camp that plays his position and that's Brockers. I really hope we get this guy on the PS. The others who were tried there are undersized and out of positions.

I'm more surprised with Barrett Jones. I thought he was in a position battle for a starting job and he didn't even make the final roster. I have to wonder if they're not going to re-sign Dunbar before long.

Jones surprised me, but Dunbar didn't. Hager and Lynch showed quite a bit and are much younger and offer more on special teams.

Barnes has worked hard and I hope the Rams actually give him a chance still wondering why Fisher & company are playing it so close to the vest on the cuts and who's the starter at center I don't understand why some things are treated like a covert operation.

I think your right here. He'll be back in camp by the end of the day! I read anyone who wants him would have to come up with the 80k bonus money he is guaranteed, so I think he'll make it to the PS!
"Trinca-Pasat is the one I'm most PO'd about being cut! We could have found a way to keep him! I see several players we could have taken a chance on getting to the PS before him!!

LTP is the one that surprised me the most, Battle being a close second. I saw most of the other cuts coming from a mile away, especially the Dunbar one, we actively watched the guy get phased out of his role.

Trinca and Jones.

I'm with @snackdaddy on this. Here's a guy that's allegedly fighting for a starting position, yet doesn't make the 53.

Pasat looks like he could become a starter in this league. I would have rather cut Westbrooks. Westbrooks did nothing to impress me playing the middle so far. Westbrooks looks to me like a career backup.

Barrett Jones....and it surprising that Battle didn't get the Jones treatment...I definitely expect him on the practice squad, as I see him as a possible valuable addition. He has talent...I wonder did he lack something...effort...preparation wise? Jones was basically given 3 years, and still doesn't have the talent he displayed at Bama...Damn shame.
