It holds more people than will come to an NFL game. The only reason why NCAA teams get that big of a crowd (most weeks) is because of students and former students filling up the stadium.

Based on tickets sold, we'd be near the bottom of this list, but still right in the mix:

I've never been to the Coliseum but from what I have heard, it's not anything like a nice new NFL stadium. I've been to a few of those, and they are crazy nice - I'm not counting attendance against the Rams at the Coliseum, period. I will wait until they actually have an NFL stadium, because the nice ones make the experience IMO.

And cost....
You can usually find cheap college tickets for $30.

Might be worth pointing out that in LA this weekend, there were 2 college games, Trojans and Bruins that drew over 175,000, a Dodger game that drew 50,000 at the same time the Rams played, and it was over 90 degrees. The Rams did sell over 60,000 tickets.

No no no don't go there! It's LA.......remember?:deadhorse:

I've been to Dallas, AZ, Denver, St. Louis and Oakland. I went to the Collusium last year and it was nothing as bad as I expected it. It was old but pretty nostalgic. Lived walking through the tunnels felt like being a gladiator walking into the Roman Collisum in Italy. Pretty cool.

Well at least LA fans have to make the excuses these days for empty seats. Was there a baseball game on? Was the weather bad? Has the team been horrible for a decade+? Has the owner not been present or noncommittal to the city for years? Well guess that last one doesn't count anymore. But was told all of those weren't good excuses for years. But feel free to use them anyway. lol. Hopefully the winning keeps happening and you won't have to worry about it anymore.
Preach it!
Oh it's so hot! Dome
Too many other sport events in town! Only Cardinals and Blues, if that
Last season was crappy. Well DUH!

It's LA...Nothing will bring out the fans ( and celebrities) like a winner. If the Rams can keep this momentum going and play like this at home all season the sidelines will look like an 80's Laker game....But the field is another story. Surely there is something that can be done to better mask the USC signs on the field so the Rams insignia in the endzone isn't pink???

Allegedly...unless you have some dodger channel...sports net something...haven't seen a Dodger game...rather the majority of Dodger games are NOT televised locally.

which is crazy considering the 25yr 8.35 BILLION $ TV deal. But making the games exclusive to Charter/Time Warner has certainly hurt the local Los Angelean.

Dodgers fans in the dark because the big media companies cannot agree on the per subscriber price for Sportsnet LA, which I think was created solely to carry to the Dodgers. Fuckin unreal in this day and age.

I don't want a city vs city debate, but damn. In all the years in Stl I never saw it like that. But I think it was an optical illusion due to the size. Doesn't it hold 90,000+

Yes it holds 90K plus depending on what seats they open up.

That means with an attendance of 60,000 (announced) there were 30K empty seats. Let that sink in for a minute. Big stadium 2/3rds full. But still a lot of people!

Another problem is getting there. Not much public parking and what is available they charge a ton of money for. So, many take the public transportation systems, bus, light rail system. Those can only hold so many people at a time (I know, I used it last year). If you are timing your arrival to coincided with the kick off, forget it. You won't be in your seat in time. Also there is a lot of walking to get from the light rail to the gates of the Coliseum.

Last years performance (or lack there of) is a huge factor this season on the number of season tickets sold. I'm still getting offers from the Rams wanting me to buy seats. So they haven't sold out like last year.

I went last year to the home opener against Seattle. Okay, I was there. I can claim fame to that. Will I go back for a game this season? Maybe, but my Lazy Boy and cheap drinks and food, along with my air conditioning and 65 inch big screen combined with Sunday Ticket makes it a hard sell to the little lady.

But I still love my Rams and I buy their stuff. Just not all their stuff (game day tickets).

we were there. all the pics of empty seats are on the north side of the stadium the south side was pretty full. stadium is huge so it makes it look empty when 30 of the 90k don't show up. it was hot as hell too.

60,000 in St. Louis should be 360,000 in LA.

Oh great another post bagging on LA. Thought we were past these things.

In other news it's shocking a team goes 4-12 and has one of the worst offenses ever then doesn't sell out their next game.

I was in no way bagging on LA. If you feel fans not showing up and someone pointing that out is bagging...then damn, good thing I keep my thoughts on the whole situation pretty close and quiet.

I was simply trying to see if there were that few people or if it was because it's so big. I've never been there. But on TV, it looked like shit and we looked like we have zero following.

It did look pretty sparse. Hopefully, some winning will put some butts in the seats and get that place loud.

Lot of people in LA are officially in shock over the beating they gave the Dolts. You're going to see a nice crowd next weekend vs Washington. Probably a third will be foreskin fans, but whatevs.

By midseason they'll be packing that place like sardines if they keep playing the way they have been. No doubt about it.

Listening to the Niners flagship station today. In addition to lamenting their dumpster fire of a team, the big talk is what an "oven" their new stadium is. Fans don't like sitting in the heat when their team sucks.

I won't bag on LA fans. At this point I'm basically in the "who gives a shit" category. I enjoy watching in my living room more the older I get. However, anyone who bagged on St. Louis fans before, whether they were from LA or not, well... they better have shelled out the $6 for tix is all I know. Otherwise, they can go back in time and bitch slap themselves to shut up.

All the love to everyone else though. :)

I hope. That would be an amazing advantage
