Keep seeing mock drafts and some ROD posts talking about taking a top reciever at 10th. in past years I've bitched and moaned about our receivers being inept but now I think if Britt is back our 4 are legit with a healthy Bradford. OL is still my primary concern in both draft and FA. I'm just curious where most fall on this one.
(side note: I expect to see a scheme change and improvement with Tavon under a new staff)

If Britt is back, our WRs are fine. BUT that doesn't mean I wouldn't take one at #10. Amari Cooper and Kevin White are elite talents. I'd take them simply because they're that good.

But I also don't think we're desperate. Bailey really played well down the stretch, I have not given up on Austin, Quick looked really good before his injury, and Britt was a solid #2 all year long and would have probably surpassed 900 yards with competent QB play because our QBs missed him at least 5 times on big plays down the field.

I don't think you pass up White or Cooper at #10, but even without those guys, a healthy Bradford that plays at least average with our top 4 guys would result in significant improvement over what we saw last year. A healthy Bradford that plays up to his draft status with those 4 guys, and our offense is very good.

This assumes though that the interior line is upgraded from the black hole of Wells and Joseph that practically sucked defenders in to wreck plays.

I voted no. Austin has yet to prove he is what the Rams thought he was, Bailey is a good third option, Quick just had a massive shoulder injury, and Britt has a past. I would love White, cooper or Adams at ten. It would complete the unit.

Agree with 1328, those two may just be too good to pass up. That is the real question to me. I think we could upgrade there also, especiallly not knowing Quick's timetable, or Tavon's potential. I don't think we have to do it at that spot though.

We need OL. I don't care how good those WR will be. Without an OL it means nothing and right now the Rams OL gets an F, We need at least three starters and 2 backups, end of story.

I don't think you have to worry. One of them is guaranteed to end up in Oakland and someone else is bound to snag the remaining one soon after. I'd say we spend at least 3 picks on OL this year and probably grab a free agent for good measure.

Let me preface by saying I do like what we have currently, but I voted no because I feel they are unproven still. If we have the chance to nab a great talent that could potentially be the stud number 1 that puts the offense over the top I feel we shouldn't pass.

If Cooper or White are the best players available at 10, we should make that the pick. Even though I don't feel it's a necessity.
Or move down to a more comfortable spot for oline.

Btw. I voted playoffs with a healthy Sam.
I really want to see Sam throwing to Quick, Britt, Bailey, Austin and Cook.

I agree the WR's being mentioned are great. However, I am more worried that they would ever be utilized properly with Fisher running the show. Fisher's philosophy is run the ball and throw the ball downfiled when the opportunity is there. Well, if they only average 3.2 yards per carry, there will not be many opportunities to catch the defense with their Safety up near the LOS (just one example of being able to throw over the top on play action). So, unless Bradford stays healthy most of the season and the O-line Gels and stays healthy, I do not see these Receivers contributing enough to make a difference.

I wish I was as optimistic as some of you about our receivers.
I really want to be wrong here but I don't see Tavon being anything more than what we've already seen (a pretty good punt returner), not as high on Quick as some of you. Quick looked decent but I don't see this superstar that some people did and he has major question marks after his shoulder was obliterated imo. Bailey is decent, definitely not a no. 1. I like Britt, imo the best receiver on the team but he is just not enough.
I totally agree we need to focus on OL but we definitely still need a no. 1 receiver and if there is an elite talent when we pick and he is the best player available it would be nice to FINALLY say we have a top tier wideout on the roster.

Yeah, should probably take either of those two if they are available at #10.
I hate to even say that because more importantly we need TONS of o-line bodies. Yet at the same time Britt is not a lights out receiver, and I'm really really really concerned that Quick is not already completely healed and ready to go. What the hell happened to that shoulder?

As someone has already said, maybe trade down for someone else's 1st and 2nd round pick to let them move up and take their player.
All that I am SURE of is our OL is numero uno to get squared away.

If White or Cooper is available at #10, I wouldn't hesitate a nanosecond picking one of them. Although I think our WRs are due for breakout seasons, Schottenheimer really was holding them back with his shoddy gameplan. Cignetti/Boras seem to cater to the players strengths rather than force the scheme on them.

I voted "too early too tell"....Need to see our roster When OTAs start at the earliest... I need to see what we did w/ our UFA/RFAs etc. What will our OL look like (Will Stafford/Bradford be healthy?), Have we replaced Langford, Dunnbar,Tell me whom is the top back up OG&OT?
Then I can give an "somewhat" educated answer... Its way to early to form an answer...

But if I was forced to choose between answer A or B. I would choose A assuming our OG & OC & RT have improved by a wide margin

I would not even think about a WR at 10... If it's too early for a bigtime OL upgrade, I think they should trade down and turn that into another good interior lineman...Another WR is a dumb move to me if the QB (whoever if might be) shreds an ACL, breaks an arm and both ankles the 1st time he drops back and tries to throw to a nice stable of WRs...Not the popular sentiment here, but it is mine...

If Britt is re-signed and Quick is healthy, we should be just fine. Of course, so long as we sign a couple good Offensive linemen in free agency, i'd be equally happy if Cooper or White fell to our 10 pick. jmo.

If there's an elite receiver available at ten I say you definitely pick him up, not that's implying you ignore the OL issues.

I voted YES.

I think our WRs are good enough to win games with a healthy Sam. But if Cooper or White are there at 10 I'd pick them up - unless we get a silly trade offer, which I can see happening, then try and pick up DGB later on...

No offense to the OP , but man we have been beating this WR drum for years.

I voted " Too Early " mainly because of the QB situation. Not a single Rams receiver has a full season with SB taking snaps. It takes a while to develops a chemistry between the 2 positions, and that hasn't happened yet. So IMO the WR's on the roster now, minus Britt are pretty much unproven.
