Me…I don’t worry about being wrong. If, at the end of the season, I’m the one who missed the mark, I’ll just dust myself off and start thinking about how the Rams can build a championship contender in 2024!

Just one reminder… some people will say “I hate to say I told you so…” I won’t mind saying that! :laugh1:
That’s fine but it’s just one side of it.

If you’re wrong, will you be as quick to acknowledge you were not correct, and be gracious in taking some good natured heat?

It would be great to watch the Rams have a winning season and make the playoffs in 2023 but I’m more interested in a build that brings the Rams back to the top of the NFC by 2024. It’s a 2 year plan vs a one year plan.

I have stated that with the schedule and if Stafford and the OL staying healthy for the most part, we can win 9 games.

And that will be good enough to be in the playoffs.

However, I have also stated I would not be surprised if we only win 3 games.

There is a huge range of win/loss possibilities there.

I will hope for the best.

….. it would go down as one of the all-time great coaching jobs in history.
I agree!! Right there with turning a 4-12 team into an 11-5 playoff team in 2017. And turning a 9-7 team into a 12-5 Superbowl Champion in 2021!!!! It's not like we're asking some over rated OC to turn a 6-10 team into a playoff team back in 2006.

I go into every game thinking we can/will win. That makes us sitting right now at 17-0 for the regular season and onto the playoffs.

I could certainly see us making the playoffs. Just go ahead and look at the rest of the starting QB's in the NFC. We assuredly rank near the top in that most important category. What is extremely important in this equation, we hit, and hit well, on at least our top 3 picks this year. Secondly, do not have half our team on IR. Lastly, what also is key - signing some vets after the draft that won't count in the comp formula. I can see us getting into the playoffs in a down NFC.

It's rebuild year. Playoffs are possible and we'll have one of the better QB's in the conference. Having said that, a lot of games could come down to a field goal and we don't have a kicker, so hopefully we'll have a kicker when the season starts. :sunglasses::sarcasm:

The former Cowboys kicker should come cheap

Quoting you now: somewhat meaningless.

Quoting you when the Rams clinch a playoff spot: priceless.
C'mon validate your pov with the current shortfall on Defense 8 starters gone. Most notably imo is Ramsey and why I pick him out is because the secondary as a whole lost 4 of the 5 starters and he was the glue that held everything together. Without him you want to bet on Durant, Kendricks, Fuller, Lake, Yeast who will be asked to cover longer than in 2022 because we currently have almost no OLBs and no anchor with Flowd. Interior D is weakened and no Wagner all that defensive firepower currently all on the shoulders of AD which is unrealistic.

Moving to the Offense the OL was way better with Whit and Scaffold back in the day. No Whit and we have struggled, no Edwards just leaves another hole to fill. Robinson is on the trading blocks and no great backups behind Akers or Higby.

Yes the Offense should be better than last year yet not nearly as good as 2017 - 2021 based on a suspect OL. Noteboom hasn't planned out, no Edwards, Center Allen/Shelton are marginal, RG is a camp battle which means it is totally unsettled only the RT is settled.

It's fools gold to assume that our draftees will make a huge difference in 2023. Not to mention how many really ever pan out. All you need to do is review each years full draft rounds in any year excluding the first round and the majority of picks are outright failures with a very small percentage being really good the rest - marginal to poor mostly 2nd/3rd string backups.

I rest my case. Please address our defense and tell me and the rest of the posters going from 8 starters leaving most of those starters were the best at their position excluding AD that alone to me spells disasters.

The vitriolic passion with which some are disagreeing with me given, as you note, our common interest, is noteworthy.

I think it’s essentially a defense mechanism (prepare for the worst, hope for the best).

But the thing is if you are wrong and we are right, few will tell you “I told you so.” Because we will be in mourning for sucking 3 years in a row.:bigcry:

Held what together? The #19 defense, #21 in pts allowed?

We lost Ramsey. A great CB, with no fear in attacking the run. There may be 5 guys in the NFL as good, all around. So that's 27 teams who've got by without one. But he does get beat, as all CBs do (re: Kendricks). But when Kendricks gets beat, "he sucks". When Ramsey get's beat, "somebody must have missed an assignment".

We lost Floyd. Very good setting the edge. Very good at rushing the QB. But was he worth a $22 mil cap hit? We can replace him with 2 young guys, one who's good at pressure, another good at setting the edge. And I hope they go that way in the draft.

Troy Hill? Come on man.
Rapp? Yeah, if I went by the overwhelming support he got from Ramsnation his 4 years here, I'd say he sucks. If I don't go by that, I'd say he's "average".

Nick Scott. Yeah, legit back end presence. I will miss him. But is he better than Fuller? I'm not so sure.

Gaines? Blue collar under rated DT. Great? No.
A'Shawn? Solid run stuffer. Ramsnation ignores the fact in 3 years he missed 15 games. But Noteboom & Allen we should crucify because of their absences.

Who am I missing? That's only 7

Oh yeah, BWags. Not the guy who came with the rep. Solid? Sometimes. Stellar? No.

So yeah, it's a lot to replace. Impossible to hold to the #19 ranking? I don't think so.

Its amusing how you kids today (I actually don't know how old you are so, yes, I'm being presumptuous) think you're entitled to have everything explained and justified to your satisfaction simply because you demand it.

And, no... you don't get to "rest your case" before the evidence is in. All you've done is make some allegations.

The trial starts in September, by the way.
