Just heard a comment by a caller on 101 ESPN by a caller--something I also saw. The play clock down to zero on one of the Cowboys last scoring drives. It was 00 and THEN Romo snapped it. No call.
I seen it. Of course the response is always it's not the official clock.

You mess up in the NFL you lose your job. You fumble - you're riding the pine. You drop catches you wont play for long. You lose games as a HC you get fired. Unless you're Roger Goodell or the refs that is.

EVERY play, and every instance of every play should be reviewable. We should have been able to review the hit to the head of Romo - the refs could look at it and see it wasn't to the head - so overturn it.

He also got away with calling a timeout after the play clock expired earlier in the game. The NFE officials are the worst, they must have been training with the NBA officials.

The problem with Fisher is he's so damn PC he won't complain about it. But he should. Given his exposure on the competition committee he should stand up and make refs take accountability. You keep screwing up you shouldn't be getting paid to do the job. Period.

he really should...I am very surprised at how quiet he has been even with the atrocious penalty calling

I don't think ill be watching many more Rams games this year. Not because of the playing or coaching but because it has become wide spread and acceptable for refs to favor teams and players. it is to stressful and angering. The amount of forced penalty calls and head scratching by the announcers and fans in response baffling. It is no coincidence that after a 21-0 lead suddenly flags are thrown in all directions to hinder the Rams. this is not a vent this is a FACT that we have all witnessed.
Been shouting about this ever since I joined this board.

Two points -- I listened to Savard and Farr on ESPN for the first half -- I didn't see the play, but Savard was livid about the roughing the passer call, since no one really touched Romo and he wasn't even in the pocket -- so how could that have been roughing the passer. Was that a legit call?

I watched the second half.... did anyone see the pass interference called on Jenkins against Bryant?

And, ok 3 points (I can't count) -- twice the play clock hit zero on the Cowboys and no call -- what the f is that about??????????????

I don't know about a conspiracy theory -- but it is getting damn frustrating to watch the life of a team get sucked out by what appears to be somewhat tainted, one-sided bullshit.

A few things here in my estimation...

First, Fish is too nice to the refs, so they don't fear making bad calls vs his team. It is something he needs to quit doing, that "I'm a competition committee member so need to take the high road" BS.

Second, I think the rules are just too complicated. It's to the point where the refs have too much heaped upon them, and they're only human. Every year the NFL changes the rules around and seems like they add more and more to the pile refs need to manage, what with concerns over player safety and whatnot.

Third, the desire is to have this be a passing league. The rules are being adjusted to get there, IMO. So the Rams would do well to see that coming and take advantage.

They were so bad even cowboy forums have made threads about how the refs handed them the game. Pathetic.

Yeah I was watching closely because of the BS call they let the 9er's get away with last week on that front. From what I know - whats meant to happen is - the ref looks at the play clock until it says 00. At that moment he looks to the center and if the ball hasn't been snapped at that point he throws the flag. So really it seems you get almost an extra second.

The saddest thing for me is that I used to really enjoy the NBA then it became more about the marketing machine and less about the game. Now we have superstars getting calls their opponents don't rule changes to help superstars and increase viewing and a season where upon the start no more than 5-6 teams even have a chance at a championship. For those reasons it is hard to watch. The NFL is on that Path.

The roughing call was BS, pure and simple. One that the league has got to clean up. There has to be a point where erring on the side of player safety cannot affect the outcome of games.

Play on Jenkins was PI. For all the good plays Jenkins makes he still hasn't learned to turn his head and play the ball when he's running with a receiver. He tends to just grab them, which he did on this play.

Yeah, I was screaming at the TV when the play clock was at zero. All in all this was one of the worst officiated games in a while.

oh, yeah -- forgot about the holding call

The Jenkins call was border line -- I do agree he has to learn to turn his head -- it was a very close call. The F word still came out......

I dont know if this particular game was rigged....but its not illegal for NFL to rigg games. Dallas is americas darlings....what more to boost ratings than a 21-0 come back.

You know its bad when my father (Steelers fan) and my friend (a cowboy fan) Call the MVP of the game "The flag thrower"

call it bitching about the refs all you want but there were some distinct plays that greatly affected this game - including the touching, errr i'm sorry "roughing" the passer, and the "holding" call on the defense (And lets just nevermind the fact that our d-line was playing UFC, not football - because Rear Naked chokes aren't allowed in football)

From Jim Thomas:

Jim Thomas ‏@jthom1 4m
Here's referee Clete Blakeman's explanation of Eugene Sims' defensive holding call, on a play in which Sims sacked the QB:

Jim Thomas ‏@jthom1 3m
"it was reported to me that there was a receiver that was coming across the formation and therewas a grab and a restriction of that . . .

Jim Thomas ‏@jthom1 2m
. . .receiver by No. 97 (Sims). It's a judgment call by our line judge (Ron Marinucci) and he felt there was enough restriction. . .

Jim Thomas ‏@jthom1 3m
. . .there to warrant the call.

Jim Thomas ‏@jthom1 2m
When asked if he knew Sims was rushing the passer on the play (and thus engaged by the WR _ Terrance Williams _ Blakeman said:

Jim Thomas ‏@jthom1 2m
. ..I don't know that. I have not seen a replay of it, so I can't really comment on specifics like that. But that's what was reported to me"
