I came to the internet in a crappy mood. I'm already regretting a lot of things i've said but just needed to vent.
The blind optimism that Jared Goff on the bench is the reason Rams are only 4-5 really rustles my jimmies.

To make it clear, I want Goff to perform at a high level as much as anyone. But i'm not like some people who can't wait to say 'I Told you so' after Goff plays well or goes silent if Goff has a miserable rookie campaign.
1st rule of the internet: Do not post when angry!! lol
Its not blind optimism for many of us, we actually think with his tools he will do great things. He will take his lumps as 99% of qb's do, but givin what I have seen from all the tape and games i've watched, I think he will be a great QB. I will not say I told you so, but will be very happy, and I wont go silent, I will speak my disappointment for whatever the reason may be.

But hey, let's sit back and enjoy the ride, whether it has many bumps and potholes, or is as smooth as freshly laid asphalt.

I've haven't been this excited about any Rams QB since warner.
If you're talking about the day Warner replaced Green you can't be serious. Nobody was excited about the future of Kurt Warner as Ram's QB until after week 4 when they blew out the Niners and started 4-0

He probably forgot about Bradford, I think we all were excited about seeing him.

For the record, considering we have Britt/Quick/Tavon(that's right, I think these 3 are better than any trio in our division) I really think Goff can have a huge season. My whole idea behind this thread was questioning how certain posters would react to Goff producing twice as many INTs to TDs. Which you have to admit is a real possibility...one that nobody is rooting for outside of NFCW fans.

I think I was misunderstood, what I meant to say that I haven't seen a QB on the Rams since KW (from what I saw from him) that gets me excited about passing the ball, now Goff, as a Rams QB, is the closest to him.

What if Trump nukes America?

What if you get mauled by a bear tomorrow?

What if you are forced to see Rosie O'Donnell naked?

I think it's best we not ask questions about situations we'd rather not see happen. Especially when the reason you're asking the question is out of pettiness to try and pick a fight. But hey, I guess if you pretend to root for the guy, it makes it all better. (y)

I just hope Goff isn't responsible for Rams not being able to afford bringing back Kenny Britt. I remember reading years ago about either a coach, reporter, or a team mate Britt had in TN saying that he's never seen a WR with the raw talent as Britt. As we all know Britt has never been on a team with a sound passing game, has had off the field issues interfere with on the field performance and has ever had great QB throwing him the ball.

M. Colston had monster years with Drew Brees. Swap Colston with Britt and Britt would be widely recognized as one of the best WRs over the past 6 years.

The verdict is still out on whether Goff being an incredibly smart football player
This was not a great year for QBs. Goff/Wentz is nowhere close to Winston/Mariotta

Goff played great in the Pac 12. I don't know how much you've been paying attention to NCAAF this year but the level of defense in the Pac 12 is downright laughable compared to the Big Ten and SEC. That's been the narrative for the past 10 years.

Trust me, I HOPE I AM WRONG. I want Goff to be amazing. I want his number retired. I want him to shatter Aaron Rogers career statistics. I just have not seen anything for me to believe any of that is realistic .

A couple things to address:
1. Kind of hard to believe that this was not a great year for QBs when Prescott, Kessler, and Wentz have all played and looked competent. We also have Lynch and Goff still waiting to play while they get developed. I'm going to say that the jury is still out on this class, but it looks like a pretty strong class.

2. The Pac-12 defenses do tend to suck. However, that hasn't stopped the conference from putting out good QBs.

I'd say Goff is the least of our problems when it comes to the salary cap. Rams have plenty of cap room to re-sign Britt if they choose.

Talking about sports is awesome. Debating about them is very fun too but can become tiresome.

Speaking about talking sports, I don't exactly hear any none Ram's fan talk about how Goff is going to end up being a great NFL QB. The consensus seems to be, 'man, the Rams fucked up' and I really hope all those mouths have to eat dogshit while watching a historic NFL renaissance occur in LA

Well, last I checked, none of us have seen him play in a real NFL game. So I'm not concerned with their opinions.

Okay. I guess I should start censoring myself because clearly reading alternative opinions is too much to handle for some of you.

Sorry if it blows my mind the pessimism that's been going on throughout the season. I just can't relate to it, sorry. I've got real things in my life to bitch and moan about, the Rams are something I can be blindly optimistic about without feeling like a pathetic human being. The modern NFL allows teams to go from zeroes to heroes and I believe Rams can be the next '10-current Seattle Seacocks.
Sighhhhhhh

That's pretty much been my narrative in this and other threads. It's easy to have expectations for the best QB prospect but i'm just nervous, man. If he had to play QB with the garbage WRs Bradford was forced to play with I would understand if he struggled out of the gate. But the fact is this team has weapons. If he fails it's on him and the coaching staff for playing him when he's not ready to even go out there and get all the rookie mistakes out of the way.

First of all I am friends with more Michigan fans than any other team. None of them can find any reason to dislike Minnesota. They are not a threat and are a fun team to root for.

He do me a favor and check the box score of the last time Minnesota went to the Big House
There's this rookie LB on the Falcons De'vondre Campell. He had a pick 6 that game. They didn't even need it. They ended up winning 30-14.

And last year Mich @ Minnesota if it weren't for WR Wolitarski letting his knee hit on the 1/2 yard line with 17 seconds left the Gophers would have successfully defended the Jug for the first time in decades. I was at that game, despite the loss it was so much fun. There was inspiration in the air. It was the first game since the announcement of Jerry Kill's retirement. Which is too bad, that guy can straight up coach. Expect to see him turn around KSU sometime soon(he's currently the AD there)

Gophs current coach Tracy Claeys doesn't seem to care. He's doing an okay job. But considering Gophers have had their best recruiting over the past 3 years in a long time I fear the fair expectations to win a Big Ten West title sometime over the next 3 years won't come to fruition.

Anyway, enough of Big Ten talk. Too bad Iowa beat Michigan. I'd hate to see PSU represent the Big Ten East. Not because I hate them but they are not better than Michigan or OSU.

Who are all you Goffaholics and Fisher haters going to blame it on? Fisher for not playing him earlier? The OL for not transforming into a legit force to be reckon with? Boras, a OC that may not make it past one full season at the position?

Most of you 'Goff should have been playing since week 1' guys really rub me the wrong way.To me there were obvious reasons Goff wasn't given the ball. Reasons that us fans are rightfully in the dark over and are in no position to criticize. None of us watch practice every day....'but the media said he was ready...get real...'

Doesn't it occur to any of you that maybe Fisher isn't the only coach who would have chosen to not play Goff? Can we acknowledge that maybe Snead screwed this one up or that like in Tennessee with Bud Adams Fisher was forced into taking a player he didn't believe was the answer for long term success in the league? Does it occur to anyone that Boras hasn't exactly proven himself as a respectable OC. Do we really want a rookie plugged into a system run by this guy, putting the kid into a position to fail, creating irreversible damage to the psyche affecting the long run of young JG's career? Rookies are fragile. Confidence is so importiant in this league.

I just think it's hacky to bitch and moan over the HC of your favorite team and not hold any of the talent accountable for their poor performance.

If you hate Fisher so bad, just stop being a fan of the team. He's our coach. We should be rooting for the man and supporting all the difficult decisions he's had to make.

With all of my heart I can honesty pound my chest and scream Let's go Gof! I'm rooting for the kid so much

I hope he shocks the world and carries this team to the dreaded 7 seed. Of course we would have been 12-4 if Goff started since day one. We obviously would have beaten DET(a game were Case undeniably played lights out), Buffalo, NYG, Carolina and SF.

Personally i'm looking forward to watching KB18 finish to year with 1200 yards and 8 tds. Watching Cooper become a major player. Seeing Tavon get balls fired at his chest 2 yards off the line of scrimmage allowing him to get into open space and burning his shoes off. Seeing Brian Quick put up a 200 yard game at Seattle leading the team to Victory. Witnessing Lance Kendricks transfrom into a top 5 pass catching TE. And finally reading about the FA WRs added to the lineup because that want to play playoff caliber football with the phenom Goff in beautiful LA.
Yeah everyone that dislikes Fisher should not be a fan of this team. Gtfo here, if that were the case, the number of fans this team would have would be staggering lower. Just because we disagree with Fisher and the way he runs this team we shouldn't be fans of this team anymore? It's not like we've given him 5 years or anything to turn this franchise around, oh wait... 5 years of losing records and fans are starting to get impatient who'd have thunk it...

You heard that quite a bit before the pre season during draft time.
Cleveland traded out when they couldn't get him.
No you haven't heard it lately because our HC refused to play him which has led to wild speculation.

This thread is basically just a big middle finger to those of us that wanted Goff to play. Essentially implying you think Goff is gonna be shit and we'll have our tails between our legs.

We're all fans of the same team here. If we really have to make excuses for routing for our franchise QB, this probably isn't the place for you. We don't come on here for the sole purpose to tear apart a mass population with one preference.

You can keep Keenum. We'll take Goff, thanks.
