Bearing in mind that the Giants are not exactly a SB bound team...

Ram O.

This O is humming in all phases and I intend to just enjoy the ride. No worries here whatsoever, barring injury.

Ram D.

Hoo boy! Where to start? Well, the most obvious place is at edge opposite Floyd. I’m hoping that Staley will employ a rotation of players in hopes of glimpsing someone who can do the damned job. Let ‘em all get snaps at the expense of Ebu and Obo, in particular. What’s to lose? I’m particularly interested in seeing Polite. Staley’s got to find out whether he has a single decent edge on this roster, doesn’t he?

If there’s no pressure again, will Staley start dialing up blitzes before mid-3rd quarter? I know the score dictates this somewhat, but his delay killed us vs the Bills.

Will Staley keep rolling with Hill at nickel? Hill has already lost his job outside to Williams, I think. Is it time to rotate Long or Burgess in there at nickel to replace Hill? I think so. Unlike edge, I’m sure Staley has the solution to the Hill ‘hole’ already on the roster and the sooner he makes the switch, the better.

What kind of a game will Kiser have? Too much of a roller coaster season for him. I hope he settles down and has a solid game.

Will the confusion in the secondary be gone? I’m thinking it probably will be. Too many smart football loving players in that secondary to embarrass themselves again. Gulp...

Will this be the game where AD finally sees teammates stepping up and taking advantage of an OL preoccupied with AD? If so, it’s about time.

Ram ST.

Broken record, I know, but can or will Sloman have a solid game so that we can exhale on FG attempts OR kickoffs?

Will we be treated to another game watching Kupp be our designated ‘fair catcher’? And will Kupp make yet another mistake on his decision making? Geez...

All this while coaches and fans try to evaluate everything through the filter of playing a pathetic Giants team.

But, hey! It’s a meaningful Ram game live in the new palace! Can’t wait.

Yeah, lots to watch with Special Teams. (y)

I am wondering if we see some changes on D, or at least sprinkled in (talking personnel, mostly).

Staley doesn't like to blitz and with the lead and probably getting to the QB against this Oline, I wouldn't expect much change in the blitz department, from what we have seen so far. I would expect to see many of the starters to see the bench in the second half.

I’d just like a nice, stress-free afternoon. Get a big lead, don’t let them back into the game, maybe even rest some starters in the 4th Quarter.

DMarco and MJD were saying it's about how we're not setting the edge, like players learn way back in flag football.

Well, I was starting to feel good about the Oline but what some suspected may happen, has happened. A defensive coordinator figures out how to defend against the Rams and when forced to play a different type of offense the offensive line did not hold up well. Goff was under a lot of pressure and the run game was not as powerful as its

This Giants game looks like another template similar to the 6 man fronts two years ago we may have just seen what to expect from every game here on out.

Suddenly the upcoming Washington and Chicago games don’t look so easy. I hope McVay has an answer this time around.

I mentioned this in the GD thread.

A home game against a bad non-conference opponent. It is difficult for a team to be motivated.

Giants + the points was a fantastic wager.

Nothing can be learned from this game.

Well I guess it's over than, no need to play anymore games because we've been figured out. I will see you guys next year. Let's hope McVay can figure out a new system that no defensive coordinator can stop. good luck guys

Alright. See you next year!! I'll keep watching to see if McVay can counter this attack next time. Great input.

We defeated them by 8 points. Were you expecting a win by 30+?

Vegas knows what they are talking about on point spreads.

Actually yes I did. Look at the score prediction thread. Just about everyone was expecting 30+ points on offense. A beat up Niners team scored 36 on that Defense, in New York. I never expected the offense to struggle as much as it did. The defense was on the field a lot. The run game was being shut down and the Giants were going hard after Goff and getting in his face consistently, forcing short drives. I'd expect this from a better team, but not at home from a winless team, especially after the comeback the Rams had against the Bills on their second road trip East. I expected more, and hoped to see adjustments if a team was stopping the offense.

Did you actually expect them to play poorly at home against a winless team?

And notice I didn't start a new thread. This was a reply to the OPs topic. I'm just continuing the conversation.

Seattle “played down” to Miami on Sunday... squeaking by in that one.

It’s all about matchups and credit the Giants for matching up, on this day.

We were slowed offensively and still got the W... doubt McVay was thrilled with 17pts. Build on it!

Yea that's really the biggest problem I've seen with this team and what separates us from the truly elite teams I think. When McVay doesn't completely outclass the opponent schematically, and the D coordinators have a good plan against us, it seems like we cant do much of anything. This goes back 2018 with Det, Chicago, Philly, and NE in the SB. Goff is forced to sit inside the pocket, read defenses under pressure, and make accurate throws. He doesn't do that consistently enough when we dont have a scheme advantage. We shouldn't need our coach to always out scheme the defense in order to play well.

But the difference with this offense vs 2018 is we have no down the field passing attack. The longest pass we've attempted in the air that was a true deep shot this year was the van jefferson 30 yard pass. What happened to Woods and Kupp going deep? The other deep shot to Higbee this year was a brilliant play design and credit goes to McVay. And every single fucking pass we throw is off of play action. There's not enough variance in our passing attack to keep defenses honest IMO, or McVay doesn't trust the oline anymore to hold up on 5+ step drops. So when we're forced to play 1 on 1 football when we have no schematic advantage, it seems like we stall out and the offense doesn't make enough plays that aren't put on a silver platter by McVay. But the dink and dunk offense only will take you so far vs elite teams that consistently get explosive plays.

Goff was very efficient on a day that the run game was slow and recievers went getting open. What if he threw two picks? Rams probably would have lost, thats what. Goff is not the problem.

Other than resting the starters, that describes the Eagles game.
