Maybe McVay is starting to learn to limit Hendo to 5-7 carries a game to keep him fresh. Also, what others said in that Cam needs more touches to develop. Cam is more than capable of getting better. No way we've seen his ceiling. Whereas we have a better idea of Hendo's ceiling and injury history.

The RB situation has been interesting to say the least.I don’t think HENDO is just a 5-7 Carrie’s RB? Then again maybe he is because he blocks well & catches even better to keep defenses honest.
Best case is Cam Akers stays healthy & finds his
Form.

Staying to the point of Darrell Henderson.I probably read about this, but not the video? Still haven’t seen it.

IMO HENDO made a Great catch in the SuperBowl. His hands are excellent. He has a pattern to the way he plays.

I believe your right about HENDO Lossing a step. He is just a baller though. He comes in & just does his thing.Very quiet & a good teammate.

HENDO is a DAWG in his own way.He is tough & runs a certain style.Mcvay & Les Snead saw talent first & Foremost.

Mcvay I sure will tell you what he thought when OTA’s came around as well? He was the rookie class of The Only Season Mcvay didn’t make it to The Playoffs. How many times have you heard that. (Add Bobby Evans plays RT that season & filled in for Big Rob.This Sunday I saw another example of The O’ taking off with B.E.71)

I take this Brussss thing sort of like Mcvay getting excited about a player he likes & sees a fit(need) of certain skill sets. In HENDO the word Mcvay would use now more than ever in that Kamari report would be EXPLOSIVES!!!

Henderson still has skill set,but his NFL career has changed some of his dynamics. His body has had to change because of his role & what he was asked to do.You can’t be ask to change your body type in such tough position.

Ben Sko is playing FB & TE in his role right now. Even know they a both RB spots HENDO can’t (hasn’t) been that FB type.

I won’t get caught up on it.Talking about Gurley would bring open up a whole nother thing.

The impression I got was he was supposed to be more of a dynamic threat/big play threat coming out of college to pair with Gurley. He was averaging 8.9 YPC and I think something like 15 yards a reception coming out of Memphis. I don't think he was supposed to be a home run threat but I was very much hoping him to atleast to a "baby version" of Gurley (zone/cut threat)

I know he's had a lot of lower body injuries kind of plague him since coming into the league but I am pleasantly surprised by how he's developed into more of a steady/hard runner, strong in pass pro, and also obv is a good receiving option. I do think Akers provides more of that big/play dynamic threat at RB but I'm glad we have them both...

I think the lesson with Hendy is that he benefitted from huge holes in college. And so you don't know how a guy is going to handle seeing barely a seam in the run game if that. Also with our OL the RB needs to have vision because random OL x will let penetration into the backfield on just about every run play.

That's where Akers has him. That ability to slip past tacklers and get more yards. Well that and being able to take more carries because Henderson seems to wilt as the game goes on vs good fronts.

Rams could really use a good RB though. Someone who makes this offense better rather than just taking the carries. Maybe Akers can still be that guy but I've been there done that and I'm a bit out of gas in hoping one of them lives up to expectations. If Akers wants to stake his claim on that job he'll make it through the 9ers game and get us the dub by grounding the offense and running up some good numbers.

Henderson has a well-proven injury history thus far in his 4th season. He is not a heavy usage #1 NFL RB.

Until this last Cards game, it sure appeared that Can Akers NFL very short career was trending downward.

Brown will take Funk's spot on the roster & enter the picture on game days to get a good amount of carries too.

Well,my track record questioned how Great Cam Akers could be after his rookie year. In training camp he was hurt & Jalen challenged him at there first scrimmage at SOFI during the pandemic.
Cam ran 7 wildcat plays in the Playoff loss to Green Bay.He really excelled as a young RB. The injury totally messed everything up.
Malcom Brown was the Big RB which basically puts The Rams where they were at the end of 2020.HENDO was taking a back sit to Akers, but Mcvay found those big explosive play calls for Darrell. He is better out in the open field.
Cam Akers is still like the Youngest Ram on the roster. He finds the whole way better than Henderson & now having Ben Sko as a lead blocker really adds a power game to the offense.
I actually like it better than moving 2TE’a in motion on the line.Cam Akers has had a couple of tough fumbles that hopes doesn’t keep him aggressive.
—Heard about the rookie Williams & a sports medicine guy was like that broken Right Ankle use to be a career ending injury.
IMO Les Snead(Mcvay mainly) took Gerald Everett instead of Cooks from(fsu) Vikings.Trading back & adding JJ43.Les Snead was like Gurley is the cowbell RB & there is only 1 football.Mcvay changed that with HENDO. Where would The Rams be without him?He is just a pond that Mcvay would like to use as a Castle.

He's hardly back, he's on the practice squad

Well thanks for the clarification. He still is in the RB’s room. Mcvay trust him & the group was together in 2020.The cool thing is he had always made his name with The Rams on special teams.

He was on the sideline.

We need to mix it up better with both of them. The thing better than having A hot hand, is having hot handS ....
But you can't create a hot hand if you keep taking the ball away.

He isnt in the RB conversation until he's added to the 53 man roster.

What has Henderson done, or not done, that has anybody thinking he’s not playing well enough? He’s been solid and consistent through 3 games.

It wasn’t until the 2nd half vs zona that Akers finally started hitting the whole with any force. He had been sluggish up to that point.

I would not be so quick to bench Henderson right now. He gives the Rams more options at the position. That could change, but what I’m not getting is why Akers is the back of choice when it’s time to put the game away. He’s gotta stop fumbling!

If your on the practice squad your still in position & team meetings.
Which has nothing to do with anything. He still has as much of a chance of getting in a game as any poster on here while on PS.
He gets named to the 53, then he's worth bringing up.

To my eye, both Akers and Hendo look to be hitting their groove. If either loses PT, it should be to the other guy.

Really , that is not a solid response. For my age I’d say I’d have a better chance than most? Then again who really know?
Brown can get called up anytime from now till Monday. He already know The Rb’s running better than us posters-lmao
The knowledge & I’m out he has with those guys could be as meaningful than most Ram coaches as well this week.

Except for that's not true. Practice squad players can be elevated to the active roster for game days.

You got me there....
But he would go back to the PS. Still would be a temporary player and frankly still not worth talking about IMO
