Sorry but comparing a trade against "players that could have been available at that spot or later" is inherently unfair. Almost any trade could be made to seem lopsided by that standard.

Best way to judge a trade is by comparing the player to the draft picks that were ACTUALLY picked. Not the "hypothetical coulda woulda shoulda" picks.

Rams got Jaylen Ramsey in his prime. Jaguars got K'Lavon Chaisson, Travis Etienne, and Jordan Smith.

In other words, the Rams DESTROYED the Jags in that trade.

.

21 and 22 weren't the greatest drafts the Rams had so there's no guarantees they would have picked great players anyway.

Ramsey was a fantastic investment. But, as always, money muddied the waters and the Rams cut bait at the right time.

Except that Ramsey was not responsible for the SB win. He got toasted by Chase in the SB. Had Aaron Donald not forced the errant pass into the ground from Burroughs at the end, Chase had beaten Ramsey for a game winning TD.

Yes, I used Grok3 AI to gather some data.

I hope their GM wasn't the brains of the Rams scouting staff! Guys used to say that Brad Holmes was the brains, and the Rams would miss him, but that was before the Rams drafted Kobie Turner, Puka Nacua, Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, and a few others.
Yeah & you missed who The Rams drafted with The Jalen Ramsey Trade !!

Which makes it that more sweet, plus Jalen Ramsey was a solid locker room guy.He was a little off but through COVID it worked.

OBJ & Von Miller were huge into the success of The Rams winning the Superbowl as well.

Sean Mcvay & The Rams have been great at that since he has become a Rams HC.

What I hate though is that thing of say leaving The Rams vulnerable.Cam Akers thing was ugly 2 years in a row & then last year with EJ53.

I do like Kyren Williams & think that works itself out.The depth is real & this RB room should be special.I wonder the value & what happens there.

I’ll use Brock Purdy as an example of a Class A Player. He just got paid, but add his numbers, injuries, pay with his draft status for 4years ?? The 8ers maintained control of his future as well.

Examples were Tru Johnson Rams & Kurt Cousins who made The Best of being a late round pick getting paid.

I’m not Ramsey’s biggest fan but outside of AD, he was prob the best tackler on that championship D.

So every team is going to say that? Because every team has blown it - and a lot more than us lately.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was not referring to the team, but to the refs who bent over backwards to try to excuse their blown call on the Ramsey facemask. They should've just said, "Ok, we missed it," instead of trying to justify it with a pile of BS.

So that physicality and experience would be a tremendous add to the Rams defense. Now it comes down to price. Don’t give away a Round 3 or better pick and make the $$$ commensurate with his level of play.

I think Ramsey needs to make the level of his play commensurate with the $$$, not the other way around.
The $$$ is already set in stone

Nice job with Grok3. You got some AI skills. Football is tough with AI because football is so context dependent, so I am impressed.

Yeah, I was one of those that was worried about Brad Holmes being the brains of the organization. Glad McSnead proved that theory wrong.

Not too worried about the guy we lost to the Jags. I think he only recently started shaving.
Thanks for that, OnceARam! A lot of us are going to have to learn to use AI sooner than later. It needs to be doublechecked, though. The same day, I asked AI for a list of DIY stores in town, and it listed a store that's been closed for four years, so it still makes lots of mistakes.

I also thought Holmes might have been a key guy, and even though he has made some nice picks with the Lions, I think Snead is better. I like how the Rams are using GPS tracking to measure true speed on the field in full gear, not dudes running in shorts on a track. I also like their emphasis on character and love of the game.
