Btw didn't we beat the Cardinals at home a few years ago when they were 7-0 or something? I remember it was a game with lots of sacks.

http://forums.azcardinals.com/showt...-on-the-Rams-next-week-They-are-very-talented
We cannot sleep on the Rams next week. They are very talented.
Thankfully they are inconsistent.
They are giving a Niners a game right now. They are a very tough team.
Cardinals seem to be taking, "Every game is a playoff game" approach. Not too worried.
But we our incredibly brutal schedule to finish the year, we need these wins.
------------
SF isn't that good. We beat them with our backup QB.
-----------
To me, there are about 3-4 games where we should be considered the favorite and we MUST win them. They are the two rams games and the Falcons game. While the Chiefs are playing a lot better, I still think we should win that game.
---------
Totally agree. They got their first sack a couple of weeks ago and have at least 8 today.
----------
... and they will be high as a kite going into next week's game if they hold on and beat the 49ers.
---------
On the other hand, after a huge upset of Seattle they proceeded to get blown out by the Chiefs. Still, I'd count on a pumped up Rams team if they hold on.
---------
The Rams are a dangerous team with a very talented defense probably one of the most underrated but dangerous defenses in the league and would be better if their offense had any life. Arians needs to get the team in gear
---------
omg. The Rams beat the 9ers with a goal line fumble
bwahahahahahahaha
----------
Wasn't really that questionable. The ball was out, nothing to overturn the ruling.
We should count our blessings that the Rams won, that in itself will be enough for us to not fall asleep on them.
Plus we at home, you folks ain't going to be going crazy when the squad runs out there?
---------
We'd be going crazy if that happened to us.
---------
..........and the Rams are another example to your point. It's game by game with everyone we play as far as I'm concerned. And as for us, a 7-1 record is encouraging, not assuring.
---------
Rams have always been the trap game. They tend to upset us after we've come off a series of wins. Remember when they beat us after we started out 4-0.
We also need to take them seriously as this is a division opponent so it is vial to win these. The Rams are very underrated and are capable of upsetting anyone. They are loaded on defense and have a lot of weapons on offense.
I hope none of our fans are naive enough to take this game lightly.
----------
1) Fans don't lose games. 2) And now there is film on Austin Davis. They will eat him alive.
Plus, I personally think CP is back to very, very close to 100%. His velocity and accuracy was much better today. I think this is the beginning of the offensive run. JMO
---------
Another game where both teams running games will be very important. Fisher likes to run and the front 4 of the Rams can put pressure on the qb. If the Cards can run the ball well, I think it sets up the passing game well.
----------
The Rams have the makings of a very tough defense which was showing as early as last year - they just haven't been consistent. I think the Niners slept on them and paid the price. We will need to bring our A game next week and also need to work on improving the offensive performance. CP is looking very good now (except the int) Troy Aikman was remarking on how perfect and beautiful some of his passes were and Troy should know.
The Oline leaked in this game, Larsen whiffed on one block and I thought I saw Fanaika miss another and will have to watch the replay; those misses bring rushers up the middle into the QBs face. I have been surprised at Palmer's ability to avoid and shake off the rush. He has more mobility than I thought previously.
--------
I have a gut feeling this Card O is just beginning to get on track. Not that they've been playing bad, but I believe they're going to start looking sharper and just executing even better as the season progresses.
Nevertheless.
The Rams scare me somewhat. They play with the attitude that it ain't over til it's over. Fisher is a good coach and their D is scary. They have beat the Seahogs and Whiners now, and that shouldn't be taken lightly even if there were questionable plays/officiating at the end of both games. They seem like a team that just sticks around and sticks around and can cash in at the end somehow.
Pretty sure Arians and Bowles won't take them lightly.
----------
And the Rams were destroyed by the Chiefs the week before . Divisional games are always like this but San Fran O is garbage.
---------
Cards have opened the line up with favored by 7!
---------
Rams are front runners. They'll start off the game well and fade at halftime once teams make adjustments. Score first and I think that's about it
--------
Dallas, KC, and San Fran would all like a word with you. Dallas spotted them 21 and the Rams still couldn't finish.
-------
I think we have to play our best game to beat the Rams.
-------
The Rams are real banged up but I would pick our Offense over San Fran.
-------
s BA said, "It's a short elevator ride back to the shithouse".
The Rams are capable of beating anybody in the league right now, so the Cards won't get caught napping for this game, all the games are huge from
here on out. We're playing for home field advantage throughout the playoffs now.
--------
Rams suck. It is what it is. They win only if we play like ****. 7 and 1 people and IMO we have only hit 70% to 75% at best of what we can do.
--------
I think Arians will have the team's mindset right to play the Rams. He already said this week they are the toughest team they have remaining on the schedule. Whether he actually believes that or not who knows, but he's at least pretending he does.
-------
I agree with everything except the 'Rams Suck' part.
Looking at their year to date, they have had a pretty tough schedule and they have come up barely short on a couple games against good teams (Dallas, Philly.) They have been up and down, but they're a tough opponent and a respectable one at that. Add on to the fact that they're a division foe playing with a chip on their shoulder and I think they show up ready for War next weekend.
I agree that if we play our game, we win. They're good, but we're better. If we don't make mistakes and beat ourselves, it should be a Win but it's far from certainty.
I also agree that we're at about 70-75% of our potential. I would be more worried about this game if not for our coaching.
I simply don't think they will let the team sleep on any opponent, especially a division rival.
I'm taking the Cardinals, but I don't expect it to be easy at all. The Rams are tough.
---------
The Rams haven't got the memo that they suck yet. They play good teams well. Fact of the matter is they are division rival and those games are must wins period. Beating non-division teams is great for setting up playoff seeds, but unimportant if you cannot win the division. Should we win against the Rams? Absolutely. Could they win against us? Yes. Never underestimate any team, especially the Rams.
----------
The Rams can be dangerous. Why? Rams' 3 wins all came on the road: Tampa, Seattle, then San Francisco. That says enough.
The Cardinals are not asleep at any position. Our coaching ensures every player is ready. Next man up. Rams won't win, not in our house and not now. 8-1 next weekend.
---------
Not to mention, Jeff Fisher will pull out all stops to get the win. Expect some trick plays, etc. like they used against Seattle. They have nothing to lose.
---------
We will crush the Rams. Their win yesterday came on not one but two poor goal line calls. This game will not be close and we will be at least touchdown favorites which is huge in the NFL.
--------
I will send them the memo today. They're just not that good. What they do is fight hard. Guess what so do we and we have the better team. I will say what I said last week. We are Not a good matchup for them. The will have to out will us and get some breaks. IMO that wont happen. We will fight just as hard if not more with better players.
----------
Whoever thinks this game is going to be a walkover needs to put down the kool-aid. This is a division game and they have already beat Seattle and San Fran. They're banged up with injuries but are fighting through them just like we are.
With Tre Mason running the ball, they are a different team. He gives them an attitude that they haven't had in years. To me, if we can't find success early running the football this will be a close game. If the Rams force us to throw early and often I can't see our o-line holding up any better than the Niners (gave up 8 sacks). The key will be turnovers. If we can get some takeaways early we should be able to build a comfortable lead and give us reason to keep running the football.
----------
Cant sleep on The Rams at all .. Cardinals have to keep the momentum going and the fans have to keep UofP stadium rocking.. Stay loud!
-----------
Tre =/= Murray We just held the best back in football to 79 yards rushing. Trey Mason does not scare me in the slightest. Who is their QB? This game is at home where we own teams. Also Palmer is just now getting back to form and Ellington continues to keep teams off balance on defense.
There is not a single aspect of the game that the Rams match up with us in.
Yes this is a division game with a team that has been in the bottom of the division for years now.
Sorry I just don't see it.
----------
The Rams blitz a lot and we must be ready for it but when they beat Seattle, they were throttled by KC the week after. A win against San Fran, im glad they did win. They got our attention.
---------
Didn't say Mason was any where near as good as Murray. But he isn't a slouch either.
We should beat the Rams. We should be able to shut down their offense. But I'd argue we should have more than 1 loss. Crazy things happen in the NFL.
Their D-Line vs our O-Line is a huge mismatch. Quinn cannot be shut down and Donald is already making big time plays. They are going to be a problem this Sunday and years to come.
---------
Their D-Line is good but I think some screens to Ellington will slow them down quite a bit. We have other pass catching running backs as well which have brought boons for keeping the QBs upright.
As far as years to come I have been hearing this since Fischer was hired and it has not materialized yet. I will admit part of the problem has been keeping Bradford healthy but shame on the Rams for not investing in a competent back up when you know your starter can't stay on the field.
