So was in a partying jack ass type of mood with my friends when we popped this in to watch. My friends took off disgusted from it and I couldn’t stop watching and was horrified and waiting to watch what happened next. I can’t stand horror movies because they are dumb and predictable but this one maybe shocked me unexpectedly? Idk... but I was rooting for her to skin these fuckers alive.

Love the movie but it freaks me out. Watch it.

You old folks might remember this one and you youngsters should watch if you like gruesome flicks. I had nightmares after watching "Premature Burial". Guy had a desiease that made everyone think he was dead and he woke up in a casket. Somewhere in the movie someone had to drink a cup of worms. Made in the 50's I think.

I guess my first disturbing movie was 'Squirm' in 1976. It was about (lol) a power line that hit the ground and caused all the worms in the ground to become flesh eaters, so they did that. They ate people. It's a joke now, but at 10 or 11 years old it freaked me right the hell out. Then, as I got a little older, that movie became stupid and was replaced by The Exorcist. The Exorcist came out earlier, of course, but I wasn't allowed to see that. I saw it when I was 13 - somewhere - and it caused me (then) irreparable harm. I barely heard curse words back then, let alone some of the sentences contained in that one (in addition to the crucifix scene). Literally mouth agape reaction when watching that one. I think that one, Jaws, and The Omen were the ones that sat with me the longest. Burnt Offerings was another one in the 70's that left me feeling uneasy.

In the 80's it was Motel Hell, Hellraiser, Re-Animator, and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

Every movie you get through makes you more immune to being freaked out over time, so it becomes increasingly harder to 'disturb' me now. I'm not looking for gore, because that can't get any worse. I'm looking to get mind-fucked now. The first SAW was good like that, but they had to keep trying to 'improve' upon it (dumb). Movies like Silence of the Lambs, "We Are What We Are" (that movie sneaks right up on you at the end), The Sixth Sense, Se7en, Jacob's Ladder, Disturbia, Identity, Orphan, etc., are great - initially - for that 'disturbed' outcome. I like movies where you really can't predict where it's going or how it'll end.

Honorable Mention: 28 Days Later. The first time Zombies were able to sprint? GTFO.

Amazing. I remember how freaked out and disturbed I was when I watched Burnt Offerings in a lonely movie theater at a matinee. What freaked me out most were the chauffer scenes and the final scene when Karen Black became the old lady in the attic. I remember looking for a dvd copy of the movie about a decade ago, and it was one those movies which hadn't been recopied from VHS to DVD format yet, because it probably wasn't considered a great movie. It's remarkable that you chose this movie, a day after I chose to add it to my list!

I also can't believe I forgot that disturbing scene in Saving Private Ryan where poor Mellish, the Jewish GI, is slowly stabbed by an SS scumbag...The worst was not only knowing his fellow soldier/translator was frozen in fright nearby
, who could have saved him. But, the massive German was softly saying "Shhh," as Mellish tried to say "no, listen...." As if to say, please don't take everything I have in this world..."Shhh, it will soon be over" (in German) as the knife slowly is pushed into his heart... FUKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

There aren't too many films that I've found disturbing TBH, I've always been a big horror genre fan - there's only 2 films that I can honestly say that I've found disturbing, because I think they messed with my head.

The first film I can remember to do this (is no surprise) - Jaws

My wife still can't watch it all! I watched it again last week and I still jump at the right places - it's pure cinematographical genius! The film kept me out of the water for years!

And don't forget - "See it... before you swimming."

The last one that I found disturbing was Event Horizon - this film totally freaked with my head for some reason!

Man You brought back memories

I watched "Squirm" against my mother's advise when I was like 10 or so. Little did I know ,my uncle was taking me fishing the next day. Not a good experience
