I'm not a fan of Rex but when he's squarely in the DC role he knows what he's doing. Really the reason McVay won't consider him is probably his big mouth (the dude just can't contain his BS) as well as his apparent dislike for Ramsey.

But I also doubt he'd work hand in hand with McVay on weekly gameplans without being all defensive and weird about it. The Buddy Ryan gene is strong there.

if your not into foot fetishes then Rex Ryan is not your guy . Just don’t see it. Mcvay is not going to go with a totally established DC either, I don’t believe. Rex is a good DC,but not a good fit.

Could be as bland of a hire as Joe Barry. Will see, but The Rams still need to find another coach on D” that brings inspiration.

Barry's been a loyal guy to McVay, so I understand him interviewing him for the job and all but if he goes that route it will be a straight-up "friend of" type hire. The type of hire he avoided when he brought Wade onboard.

I trust that McVay is smart enough to see that.

This is an excellent case study on how quickly fans can turn on coaches. Even when it's not warranted. Nice job engaging ludicrous speed.

Why do people only read what they want???? "It would seem" doesn't mean that's what's happening but if that indeed happens then people are free to criticize. Chill out man I said I hope it's not the case yet hopefully. The worst thing I said about coach was he seemed overwhelmed at times with the offense and he looks like he aged 10 years since he took over which is par for the course for most coaches.
Point being I just hope he isn't turning into said control freak. However the point I was clear on was that I do not want Barry as our Def coordinator. Seems most people on here do not. So not hating on McVey at all just hope he doesn't try to take to much on if indeed he/they are going that route.

That's all man! Wasn't drawing a moustache on your McVey poster!!!

It's weird we haven't seen any news out of Rams park in regards to interviewing coaches or at least which coaches are generating interest. Wonder if we'll see coaches getting interviewed after the playoffs are over.

Pass on either Ryan. Rex is all about Rex and would be a serious problem for a young coach if things weren't running perfectly. Egomaniac with too much bluster - not enough substance. Besides... he has had his 15 minutes that lasted a couple decades. He's also too used to being the BMOC and I'm not convinced he wouldn't try to undermine McVay in order to be that again.

He's only been a DC for 4 seasons with Baltimore. The defense was great before him, and was great after him. And during the 4 stretch while he was #1 once, he also had #22 ranking as well.
No idea why he has any type of good reputation. He's just a loud mouth cliché machine who is too soft on his players and his teams turn soft

No offense to Joe Barry but to fire Wade for Barry to me is a step backwards. It would seem Sean McVey just wants underlings rather than people he can work with and continue to grow from. Let's face it we love the dude but he looked like he aged 10 years from his rookie season and seemed even a bit overwhelmed just calling offensive plays. Now we are supposed to believe he can handle being heavily involved in all aspects. I just hope it's him trying to learn but is smart enough to know he needs someone young energetic but also proven and l will let him do his thing. obviously as a head coach he can interject some opinions but I'm thinking if you get a proven commodity will they react well to micro management. For example if it was a Greg Williams or Jim Swartz do you think they would react well. To sum it up I'm just hoping he isn't trying to put pieces together that he just wants to rule with an iron fist over like a control freak. That would be the quickest way to end his career.

Yea seriously . What is it that you are reading or getting from that post. If you actually read it a summation of it to simplify is I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. Just a different perspective and I hope it isn't the case. It points out the obvious about coach seemed to struggle just with the offense at times this year the Gurley thing still lingers and and I would be nervous for our team if coach decides to wear one to many hats. That's it.....still pro Mcvey but I do worry.

Of like Jeff Fisher as the DC but that will never happen. No Ryans please. No to Joe Barry as well.
