Yep. It's very strange but given the flow of the game the blocked punt and short field might have actually worked in our favor by limiting the amount of time they would be able to drain off the clock.
I'm sure McVay told the end blocker great play when he came back to the sideline, and the ST Coach "way to draw it up" :eyeroll:

Definitely stressed! Not because I didn’t think that the Rams could get it done but knowing that one mistake could end their season. I almost felt better that they were down by 4 because I knew they needed a touchdown to win it and were going to approach it with that in mind. Still flashbacks of last year’s Philly playoff game and this year’s loss to the Panthers in the regular season were in my mind. Amazing relief when the game was over. If you’re a Rams fan you know they rarely do things EASY. But that’s part of being a Rams fan. Battle scars and all.

I had the dog running for cover upstairs and the wifey threatening to never let me watch another Rams game at home (I’ve sadly grown to prefer watching from home for rewind/pause options). I decided to take off the lucky hat (which wasn’t working) and let the game happen. I had my doubts but a glimmer of hope with Puka & Stafford that luckily held out.

My default reaction has evolved into using sarcasm as a more healthy outlet for the anxiety I feel when I can see the Rams starting to stumble a little. I sensed it sometime in the middle of the second quarter and the sarcasm didn't stop until the last touchdown :laugh3:
I think this is better than just getting completely whiny in front of my 9 year old than what I was exposed to... My dad would throw beer cans at anything that wasn't breakable lol
My daughter says she was terrified during Rams games as a child. I knew I yelled a lot, and may have thrown an almost empty beer can or 2, throwing beer cans with beer in them is alcohol abuse and should never be done. I never knew until a few years ago that she felt that way, I just knew she didnt want to be in the house when I was watching the Rams. Which seemed reasonable to me, my home was the only place I was welcome to watch Rams games back then.

My dad rarely swore and never when watching a game. I wish to God I didn't get my temper from him though, but you learn it from someone and my mom never had one. Dad almost never lost it but that's who I got mine from the few times he did when I was a little kid. Ugh. So please think before raging in front of your kids because they can learn that it's acceptable when angry. I can get a very explosive temper and I sometimes break things, though it's been over a year. It's never on people, it's when something fucks up like my computer. I'm always swearing out loud at it and had broken keyboards before but that's also been a while. I never throw or pound stuff or get too loud watching a game. I'll say the F word though on a bad play or cheer loud for a good one but it's not like people have to leave the room. I need to apply my game calmness to my computer but I just can't stand when it doesn't think as fast as I do. I can take one random fuck up, but any recurring one gets me very pissed off.

I understand! I just redirect my negative energy into sarcasm with just enough spice to where if you didn't know me then you'd probably be unsure if I was being serious or not....but my family knows I'm just being silly AF because I'm secretly freaking TF out inside lol

Something like Samuel L Jackson in Black Snake Moan:

When the Rams are playing send the wife and kids shopping or to the movies. Yell and scream all you want. It’s stress relief. I just watch the games alone. Not too much yelling or screaming but much more comfortable watching the game alone or maybe with only diehard fellow Rams fans.

My neighbors hear me during games, ok, all the time. But during games I'm even more easily excited and dont realize how loud I am. My mom called me a few minutes after the Rams beat Tennessee in SB 34, she asks was that you? I lived about 3 blocks from her back then. I've been thrown out of bars for being to loud during football games back when I drank.

We were actually at the Atlanta game and I was laughing at halftime saying things like I don't even really like football, we only drove 9 hours for the concessions...I won't lie though, witnessing Stafford muff that snap in the 3rd might have squeezed a S.O.B. out of me that was mostly drowned out by the Falcons fans cheers :quiet:

For somebody who insists on calling other posters "Captain Obvious" it's surprising this particular quirk of the game would be so difficult to grasp. But for those of us that need to have it spelled out for us, yes... Blocked punt = Bad. More time on the clock for the offense = Good. Both can be true at the same time.

I too was "asked to leave" a sports bar while watching our Rams play poorly several years back. I was told that I was too loud and "upsetting the kids". When I responded "Kids? ..in a bar", I was told it was "a family bar". That was a new one for me. Sadly my Rams viewing is not best for public consumption. I fare much better at home where I only upset my wife and the pets.
