I like good defense, but not when its just two sloppy offenses.

Spagnuolo and Fisher were both defensive HCs and yet their terrible offenses usually made the other team look like the 85 Bears.
Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. A good defensive battle is nice, provided both offenses are actually good also.

The game was entertaining because 1) we had a rooting interest that was going our way and 2) a normally prolific offense was tamed, one that has been annoyingly cocky and smug. And yes, I agree with this not being complete without The Gladiator clip.

Enjoyed seeing how a defense could slow down a modern hiwnpowered offense.

But I was puzzled at the lack of calls on helmet to helmet hits and defensive holding.

No doubt man. It felt good to see that. I knew the Aints were being overhyped since they beat us at home without Talib, but damn it was nice to see them knocked down a peg.

Not afraid of them in the playoffs. Can't wait.

Not sure if I can say it was entertaining or not, but the 99' NFC Championship game was maybe the most intense game I can ever remember watching. I felt like I played in it when it was over as it was so draining. And that was a 6-5 game until Proehl made "The Catch"

When it's the Rams in a low scoring game, it drives me nuts. The title game vrs the Bucs is my favorite example. Anxious the entire game.
Fortunately, there was Ricky Proehl.

I enjoy the Rams crushing teams in all three phases and I enjoy teams I dislike losing in any way. This game was fun because the Saints lost.

In the most excruciatingly entertaining game I’ve ever seen, the score was only 11-6.

Rams fans remember it well...

Very few people gave the Cowboys a chance to beat the Saints including myself. I was just looking for a defense that could slow down the Saints offense and maybe bring them down to earth a bit. What the Cowboys showed everyone was that the Saints offense can be handcuffed with smash mouth tackling and excellent LB play - maybe especially when you take them out of their Superdome.

And even more satisfying was the Cowboys taking the pucker out of 'ol sphincter mouth Payton. As they say "that is why they play the game". And maybe it was a little too early to "crown their asses".

I really appreciate Cowherds take that Dak is Tim Tebow all over again, just a little better. Fumbles the ball the same and gets sacked the same as he has no pocket "feel" when it's collapsing and takes too long to go through his reads. But with a good defense, he can somehow squeak out a W.
The thing I liked about Goff the most coming out of college was his footwork and pocket presence. To me, those are the intangibles that separate the elite from the rest (or good from great if you're sensitive about the term elite)

Cool, We still like close games, good defense against good offenses and we don’t mind seeing a dickhead rival lose.

Ehh The Cowboys played great defense that game.. and the saints defense has been playing pretty well as of late.

But truly the real reason it was enjoyable - the saints lost.

It was a great game, it also revealed that an older QB like Brees will bail out fast (Brady has done that a few times this season, too). All that EVerett phantom QB sack is overblown....many, many famous QBs have made this choice.

38 seems like a cut off for mental toughness for QBs (to take that hit to the ribs); some QBs like Peyton Manning never liked it, and that is why SD CHargers twice and the Steelers erased him in the playoffs. Something that you couldn't do to Warner....yep, another shamelss Rams plug!

10-1...best post 1973 regular season team by far for me! NOw, for the playoffs, nothing would surprise me: 0-1, 1-1, 2-1 or 3-0.

Whether an offensive or defensive game, I'm entertained. The NFL has changed the rules so much to increase scoring, when a good defensive game comes up...it can be a gem.

Dallas really played a TEXTBOOK defense against the Saints...IT SHOWED HOW VALUABLE GOOD LB PLAY CAN BE!
