I haven't been impressed with Witherspoon but he's better than T. White was. Maybe give Wallace more snaps. Last night he got 0 on D after getting dinged in the Seattle game (4 snaps). The previous 3 weeks he got 31, 39 and 20. Maybe it's because he got dinged vs Seattle, maybe because they don't see him as good as Witherspoon?

Yes but that's not much of an achievement to be better than T White. We know what Spoon is. He's ok in a role where he draws the lesser options.

I want to be optimistic and man do I hope I'm wrong.

But it seems to me that the Vikings game was an outlier at this point (and them flying across the country for a Thursday game is probably why).

Outside of that game we have no TDs in the first quarter all year. We thought that was because of injuries, but we now have the Seahawks and Dolphins games to validate these slow starts.

Beating the Eagles, Bills and Niners feels impossible right now.

The other games are "winnable", but the Cardinals are on track to join that group. That leaves road games against the Patriots (dominated the Bears) and Saints (just beat the Falcons) and then the Jets, and a home game against Seattle.

If we get a win this week and look better maybe my perspective changes but man last night was a disaster. I'll stop myself from posting a ton at the moment

No, we're not done yet. We could win the next 8 games and go 12-5. After watching last night do we think that is a possibility? Anything is possible. But some things are unlikely. I'd say winning the next 8 ranks as very unlikely.

I think we will go 2-2 over the next 4 games. I don't see us beating Philly or Buffalo. That would put us at 6-7 with 4 games left. That is if we beat New England in their place. They no longer look like the gimme they were early in the season.

If the Rams don't get going real soon, I don't see a repeat of last year. A loss next Sunday and I think we can throw in the towel.

I agree. Still almost half the season to play. It is far from over. But our record at this point, combined with all the losses to teams above us in the standards, is not good. It's an uphill battle.

The key will be the o-line. Can they gel? My worry though is that it is not only continuity. It is that we do not have a bonafide centre on the roster. Jonah Jackson and Avila both seem to only be capable of playing LG at a high level. The Jackson signing was curious when it happened because it was a lot of money to shell out without knowing if either he or Avila could play C seamlessly. The worst case scenario seems to be coming to fruition now with this free agent acquisition - we have 2 LGs between them, no Cs, and a ton of wasted cap space as a result.

The D has been surprising better than expected....their rankings (for what thats worth) has gone from the back of the league to mid league for the most part.

They’re not gonna bench Jackson for Limmer. Would you admit to your boss you wasted millions of his money? No, it will be like the Browns sticking with Watson. They paid the money, and they won’t be in a hurry to admit that was a mistake.

He wasn't good Monday Night, but, I think he deserves a few more weeks to see where he really is.

As bad as that sounds, it's really much worse than that. Our offense has been outscored by opposing offenses in 7 of 9 games. If it weren't for that young aggressive D we'd be 2-7. And we only have 7 FIRST HALF TDs and 7 field goals (2 in the 1stQ) in the first half all year. That's an average of 7.7 pts per game in the opening half. Our offense is averaging 1.4 in the 1st Q. We've turned the ball over on downs 6 times this year, twice in the 1st Q, 3 times in the 2nd Q.If we're going to do anything positive, all of that has got to change.

Last night we got the ball 3 times in positive territory (our own 45 or further in) and had 1 FG to show for it. We punted once and fumbled the other time. On the year, we have taken over from our 45 in 7 times and have 3 TDs, 2 punts, a fumble and turnover on downs. Opponents have taken over in positive territory 7 times with 3 TD, which should be a credit to the defense. They forced a FG last night, picked off Seattle after the blocked punt and forced Las Vegas to punt after they took over at their own 49.

Did you even watch the games when Limmer was playing? He's a good rookie center that will only get better. Our highest graded lineman two weeks ago before he got benched for a hobbled up overpaid guard.

Cards have a real path to the division win. They come off their bye to play hawks, vikes, hawks, patriots, panthers. Then we play them. By then their lead could be huge.

Honestly I don't think play calling is the number 1 issue.

The 0-line cant hold up long enough to attempt chunk plays - however this is a trend throughout the nfl.

I agree and to be honest I think Miami is a bit like us last year at 3-6. A lot better than the record indicated and a must win to keep any chance of the playoffs alive. We got their best and unfortunately our offense let us down. Especially the OL.
We have some tough games coming but like last year, I think we control our own destiny as odd as that may sound.

Yep - games I blame losses on Mcvay .The Rams had Bears,GB & Miami all beat.

Minus this Miami game,which was a COMPLETE FAILURE in SO many WAYS !!

Well I did LOVE a play call against Miami. To start the 2nd half,I YELL play action FAKE. Stafford almost lost his footing,stumbled very little with the ball.

The cool thing is he swings out deep turns & hits Puka on a comeback timing play.
