I really don’t care what the gossip is related to him in the past, it’s irrelevant and not what ROD does with current Rams players.

They got it done today in SF with him leading the O so he gets props for that with no shade.
If you don't care, why make the comment. Interesting.

That stuff shows how quick people are to condemn or avoid the stench of failure (and I'm not talking just fans here, the coaches are human too). He thought the Eagles were his team but he had lost the locker room for whatever reason, probably a fat head. People fuck up. But I care more about whether they can learn from it and apply what they know. Because then it's what you call wisdom.

The Colts were a joke last season. I saw enough of them to know their line was shit. Carson likes to hero ball, it's a weakness of his. But whatever went down with that owner I don't think it's worth thinking the player is a shitbag. Not like he ever said one bad word about either team that I can recall.

So personally I'm happy for him and for us, because we needed a backup QB. And I doubt that's enough to get him a starting gig. But we might lose him for backup money if some team decides to get stupid. We'll see.
My perspective is that Stafford has had a lot of injuries and will soon be 36 years old. We need to start thinking about the future. This looks like it'll be a good draft for QBs on late Day 1 and Day 2. I'd plan on drafting a QB this year with the hope he can be Stafford's successor. Because of that, I doubt there's a spot for Wentz.

That said, Wentz made certain teams (cough Jets cough) look very foolish for not signing him earlier in the year. (He also made us look foolish for rolling with Rypien lol.) It's frankly crazy that Flacco and Wentz were free agents midway through the year.

Yes, we win at GB if Wentz was at QB and not the black hole of Rypien.

Without Wentz we do not win this game today. Exactly what you want from a backup QB. A guy that can win games for you. I hope he comes back next year.

Well Tyson Hill has the body of TE and can take those hits on a regular basis, and can run routes if needed. Wentz went all out since he doesn’t know when he’ll start again. I wouldn’t want Wentz to take hard hits like that consistently.

If you were counting on him as your 17 game starter, you don't run him 20 times, haha. But he earned his money today.

4th and 1 would be automatic with Wentz even if the whole world knows its coming. That would be "THE RAM JAM" instead of the Brotherly Shove
I would 100% bring him in on critical short yardage. Our own version of the Tush push. Saves Stafford from possible injury and Wentz is a few inches taller and probably a bit heavier. Not to mention he would be fresh and nothing to lose so would really power in there.

The RAM JAM - if we could master it, really can be the difference in the outcome of the game. Keeping the defense on the field, converting, and breaking the soul of the defense.

I would also use Wentz on some packages around the goaline, especially 2 point conversions. RPO's etc.

It would be a good wrinkle that Detroit hasn't seen and doesn't expect.

What attitude problem? By all accounts he has been excellent since coming to the Rams.
The Rams seem to have a way of changing the perception for guys who have a reputation. I've heard the knocks on him. How he can be hard to coach. Tends to go off script too much. Puts his body at risk then ends up on IR. The culture in this locker room is different. Guys tend to buy into the we not me thing. I think he will be another example of it. I'd much rather they bring him back as a backup than those noodle arm backups McVay has had his whole tenure here.

My point exactly. Stafford is pretty weak at QB sneaks despite his scoring a couple in the playoffs 2 years ago.

Kudos to Wentz. He beat the whiners again. Yes, they rested players but so did the Rams.

I think McVay can weave in a few plays for Wentz which could be trick plays. That would be cool.
I believe Wentz is something like 4-0 against the 69ers.

He has been found & helped The Rams win a game.Long was looking good as well, but yes this dude’s a stud. He was on the JB show.A good interview.

My biggest take was what The Rams need next season & could be a reason they don’t win the Superbowl.IMO it’s a 2 fold as well for both positions. - The special teams aspect of depth shows.

I thought that on a few of his read options that Wentz kept the ball when he should have handed it off.

He doesn’t look very fast either. I see people on the internet claiming that he’s going to be a starter for someone next season after that great performance. 163 yards passing is going to land him a starters spot?

I hope this is the case too.

I also hope that they aren’t thinking that Stetson Bennett is the guy.

It was interesting how Mike Lafluer used Carson Wentz in this game.It opens up Mcvay’s (scouting) eyes on what a scrambling QB could look like in The Rams offense.
—Cam Akers is gone, but Hurts was the next pick after him. Then Jefferson only 5 picks later.Has anyone seen Terrel Lewis lately ?

I might be the only one to still have a little Faith In Stinson Bennett for at least the backup (3rd) backup role. Who knows about Carson, but those Game Reps were priceless.

That was the beauty of The Rams getting in early.Mcvay knew what was best.If anyone watched that Giants game & came away from it not thinking Mattew Staffords hand was a 100% (shoulders up?).
—I’d ask you this as well. Kendrick? Durant as a cover CB ?
Troy Reeder got hurt & was calling the plays ? Have Jones with a week rest is huge. Kupp with his ankle as well.
— my take on things are a lot different than most.Noteboom getting a week off with his groin was huge as well. Brian Allen was hurt or Shelton might have sat a couple snaps ?

Maher is huge going into the playoffs & Evans is really punting well.
—The streak is over, but I’d rather it like 2022 & beating the 9ers in the playoffs again. Still there is hope.
