Weirdest WiFi Hotspot...

...you ever ran across. Today I was sitting in the car in a library parking lot while my went to makes some copies, when I searched for the free library WiFi. Normally, there are random WiFi options from homes and businesses. This time. there was a hotspot that said "FBI Surveillance van." I immediately turned and looked around, but saw no van. But on the other side of the building is what passes as a busy street in our small city (28K). There is no way an FBI office is based in this town, but there is a university, maybe the Hamas garbage on campus?

I thought it was weird in my town, so what is the weirdest hot spot addy you have seen on your phone?

That was more than likely a homeowner that changed the name.

You can name your Wi Fi in settings, to distinguish it from the neighbors.

Maybe... The "FBI van" was there as an option and then it was gone. I don't think it was a home WiF, because it acted like a moving vehicle.

I used to work for comcast, people get very creative with wifi names. FBI surveillance van can be found on almost every block. I've seen quite a few that were clever like "tellmywifilover" , "yourlesbianneighbors", "dykeswithtoys" "blueballs69" "$50forwifipassword" . And then many lame ones like "9erhouse".

As difficult as it is for me to say... the FBI isn't dumb enough to name their WiFi on a surveillance van "FBI Surveillance van".

That is someone who has a funny sense of humor who has named their WiFi that name. They did it to do exactly what it did to you.

You gotta give that guy some credit for a well played joke there.

I named my WiFi "Rams House" when I bought my new place 3 years ago. Hell, I even put up a big Rams House flag out front too when we moved in. I wanted all my new neighbors to know what's up.

WiFi names are under appreciated and probably aren't provided enough creativity when they are choosen for the most part. More people should do what FBI Surveillance Van Dude did with his... he deserves an award.

I prefaced that with "As difficult as it is for me to say".

I was trying to say that in too nice of a way though. My bad for sure.

My mind was definitely saying "Those fucking asshats probably did name it that so they could figure out which one was theirs... but they still couldn't figure out the password was FBI surveillance van."

I should have just spoken my mind.

I actually had FBI surveillance Van#9 as my wifi name

have also had "IhatethePatriots"
"Bradysucksballs"
"PucktheFatriots"

along with "your Mom is busy right now"
"do you know who your dad is"

I can use my phone as a hot spot if I need to.

Often Ill be on a job site where I haveto use it

I would change the name of my hotspot to something ..one neighbor had named theirs DooWaaDiddy , so I named mine Diddy Dum Diddy Do
