1. Los Angeles Rams

Record: 8-0
Week 8 ranking: 1
sw_ye_40.png

The Rams are the lone undefeated team in the NFL, but they are convinced that there's plenty of room to improve. And they're correct, starting with the defense. The D has come through in the clutch on several occasions, notably in victories over the Chargers and Vikings. But it is the 13th-ranked defense in the league, and at times it has been susceptible against the run and more recently against the pass.

1. New Orleans Saints 6-1 (last week: 2)

The Saints went on the road and survived in Baltimore and then thrived in Minnesota. Their reinforced running game and defense are back to supporting MVP-worthy play from Drew Brees at an elite level.

2. Los Angeles Rams 8-0 (last week: 1)

The Rams’ defense keeps springing leaks, putting more pressure on their offense not to have "off" games. Good thing Jared Goff and Todd Gurley remain up to the task.

Last Week’s rank: 1
Points in poll: 319
Highest-place vote: 1 (9)
Lowest-place vote: 2 (1)
Last week: Win 29-27 vs. Green Bay
Next week: at New Orleans

The Rams are the consensus best team in the NFL, but they are currently posted as underdogs in New Orleans next week. Should be a great test for both teams. We had no change in the top four this week, but there could be a shake-up next week.

Overrated NFL Team: See why the Rams are an overrated NFL team in our new Overrated-Underrated page.

The idea Rodgers would have lead them to victory over the Rams, had Montgomery knelt down in the end-zone, is pure media fantasy. Rodgers is 0-35 when losing by more than one point in the 4th quarter against teams with a winning record. 0-35!!!

I'm not gonna get on here and start screaming at you and start calling you names or anything but you are not good at this. You obviously have teams that you don't like and you grade on emotion and your responses on the message board makes you look like a 16 year old. I'm not saying this because you didn't rank my team high enough, you're just not good at this. Have a good one

The Rams looked unstoppable against the Vikings on an early Thursday night. When that happened, I wrote, "Be wary of teams that appear that way on national TV. They can often disappoint afterward because they're way overvalued. Remember the Eagles from numerous years ago with their controversial quarterback when they couldn't be stopped against the Redskins? That's what the Rams' win over Minnesota felt like."

As it turns out, the Rams haven't covered the spread since beating Minnesota, save for their Week 7 victory over C.J. Boat Hard, or whatever his name is. They've beaten eight teams that are a combined 23-35-2. Because looking at numbers is lazy, let's analyze the wins:

- Rams beat the Raiders after trailing at halftime. Oakland's only win thus far came via horrible officiating versus a rookie quarterback making his first start.

- Rams shut out the Cardinals, who were nearly blanked at home the week before versus the Redskins.

- Rams beat the Chargers by 12. The same Chargers who nearly lost to C.J. Beathard.

- Rams defeated the Vikings by seven. Minnesota tied the Packers and a hobbled Aaron Rodgers and then was blown out by Buffalo. Plus, some poor officiating buried the Vikings.

- Rams snuck out a win against a pedestrian Seattle team, as Los Angeles couldn't stop the run.

- Rams beat the Broncos by three, although they were up by more before some garbage scores. Case Keenum was horrible until the Rams went into a prevent, and Denver stinks overall.

- Rams crushed C.J. Boat Hat, or whatever his name is.

- Rams barely beat the Packers, who led for most of the game. Had Ty Montgomery not fumbled the kickoff at the end, Aaron Rodgers probably would've led Green Bay to victory.

I understand that the Rams seem unstoppable to some - they're favored in New Orleans, for crying out loud - but that's precisely what makes them overrated.

I cant find this site that lists the Eagles ahead of the Rams. The nfl.com and bleacher report links both have rams at 1.

"We will not be a winning football team until Jeff Fisher is gone." - Me (October 2016)

Do you realize how great it'll be if we go into New Orleans and beat the Saints?
If so, it's a high % chance we play at home throughout the playoffs.
Would be so nice!

Am I the only one not worried about the saints ? A lil concerned yes but worried no. We went into the game last year against New Orleans and everyone was freaked that we were in trouble and coach mcbae and squad showed up and won the game.

Because Rodgers is considered one of the elite and the Rams D has underperformed as of late.

Saw one guy post that Rodgers is 15th in 4th quarter comebacks among active QB’s.

I'm tired of hearing that we didn't beat anyone. We beat the Chargers and Vikings in the same week! And the Seahawks are in the wildcard race!
Who did the Saints beat? The Redskins and the Ravens? I think the Chargers and Seahawks can beat both of them.

Imagine being this freaking stupid.

Sorry, I can't.

Hey... sooner or later, the Rams will lose a game (maybe even two) and the naysayers will be right there.

Who gives a rats ass.

Imagine being this freaking stupid.

A bit after one of my seizures, all I was doing was watching TV and my brain literally degenerated. I lost the ability to write my name and it took me a 12 hours to finish my neuropsych eval which normally takes 2-3 hours.

And even then, when my wife would speak to me it sometimes would sound like Charlie Brown's teacher... I was NEVER as stupid, impaired or dysfunctional as Walter.

He's belligerently stupid.

If it works out that the Rams lose to a top 4 team on the road, you can bet he'll use that as and "I told you so" moment.

I'm certain at this point that if I were healthy that I could do his job better than he could.

Straight up, no blue font, no sarcasm.

He's just not very good at what he does.

For me, I'd take @Angry Ram 's rankings straight up over Walter every day and twice on Sunday.

Sorry to hear that man. You certainly don’t seem like you have any issues writing now. Glad things got better at least.

As to your point, I agree. He just seems to want to be “that guy” when writing stuff like this. Because even if he’s dead wrong(and he is) it won’t matter. He still makes his money and deflects anything his viewers say about his idiotic views.

Imagine being this freaking stupid.

Walter is asinine. You can take that approach with every single team.
