Ridiculous call and i have a theory on these things(of course).

Physics. Murray is a little guy so its very easy to push him around. It doesn't take near as much force to knock Murray down as it does say...Josh Allen. The refs see a small man get knocked to the ground and bam...that's roughing/excessive...even though IRL the bigger defender just threw a hip into him, for example.

It's kind of the opposite of

Remember Shaquille O'Neal? Dude was fouled on every play by multiple dudes under the basket because he was so large and powerful but it wasn't always called. They'd have to blow the whistle every time.

They called roughing the passer on that where the defensive guy was trying to hold up and bumped Murray because the OL also pushed the defensive player into Murray.

Horrible horrible call.

In addition, the only reason Murray moved back 5 yards is because a stiff wind would blow him 5 yards back - sheesh

It has always been my opinion that the NFL is officiated worst then any other professional sport. These guys absolutely suck! They should be reviewed each week and when they miss an obvious call they should be required to work on the back of a garbage truck for a week. It is a shame to watch a bunch of weak ass old farts ruin the best game in the world.

I agree that they are the worst

The only solution is that they need to be full time officials just like the other sports.

You don't see Umpires and Referees in Baseball Basketball and Hockey working other jobs during the season.

It's okay if they want to work in another job during the off-season but still required to take a mandatory two week refresher course before the preseason. Both in class and on the field.

Why is it so hard for the NFL to grasp that fans want LESS referees and more game action. We already have to endure advertisements and their shitty broadcast teams.
