I am also reluctant. There are several celebrities that live or have lived in my area. You see them at theaters and at yard sales, but I have never approached one for an autograph or to chit chat. I figure they deserve their privacy as well as I do. BUT AN ALI AUTOGRAPH WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL!

As I was leaving the restaurant, the owner who is a friend of mine, had Ali and his wife assembled for a photograph with the wait staff. It hung on his wall until the restaurant went out of business a couple years later.
I have had some "hello" moments with minor celebs. Mostly music guys as I used to play music.
There are always those people that are jerks but most were cool. It seemed cooler before the twitter, cell phone picture era.
Heck in high school I remember going down to shoot hoops and recognizing some guys who were playing. I said I was a huge Ram fan and if it was ok if me and my Rams fan buddy played with them for a bit. "Sure kid, no problem, but there is no mercy, no gotta earn your points".
So got to play a game with Robert Delpino and Buford McGee.
