It just hit me this morning....I am sure there will be some consideration to this, and maybe that's him walking around (along with Stafford) during the flight.

But then it got me thinking.....what if we have known he would NOT go to Australia, and in the background we are frantically trying to figure out if the league is going to suspend him and if so, ask that they do it to start the season since that would be the game for him to miss.

Are you suggesting his clotting issue would prevent him from flying to Australia?

Yes. I can't wait until the last preseason game ends so a reporter can ask about this....being on a flight for that long is probably going to be a nonstarter given his history with blood clots

Yeah, interesting that nobody’s brought that up. Some of his east coast games had flights longer than 4 hours last season though I think? What about their England game? I think they can manage like you said the movement, the hydration, everything but the cabin pressure effects? It’s not like he’ll be stuck in coach in one position for a prolonged time.

Btw nice frantic post, Frantik.:thumbsup1:

I wouldn't worry about it. He'll probably be suspended by then anyway.

I just looked it up, and no it isn’t safe.
Respectfully, I think you should be careful with a Blanket Statement like that.

I'm not sure it's as simple as ... Safe vs. Not safe.

Certainly blood clots and airline travel are a medical issue but I beleive there are several factors that impact the degree of risk and safety. As a layman, I'm not going to opine on a medical matter; and I certainly could see the possibility of Jackson not making the Austrailia trip.

Dude I looked it up online and that is what they said, it isn’t my words that was a blanket coverage. Look at my post again. I said I looked it up.

Yeah and everything is true in the internet. Not saying this isn't. But there are a lot of statements that are blatantly false.

I also did a little research before posting.

From what I saw, it's not a simple Yes vs. No.
That was my point about a Blanket Statement, and it not being a simple issue.

If a blood clot is active and untreated, flying is dangerous.

However, if the blood clots are being treated it may be relatively safe ... with input from medical professionals. Here is just one of a half-dozen comments I found ...

Most doctors recommend waiting at least 2-4 weeks after a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) diagnosis before flying. If you have suffered a pulmonary embolism (PE), you often need to wait longer. You must be stable, pain-free, and properly anticoagulated on blood thinners before getting medical clearance to travel.

Again, I would not offer an opinion on medical topics such as ... deep vein thrombosis ... pulmonary embolism ... properly anticoagulated on blood thinners. This is Not simple, straight-forward stuff.

If it’s a risk to fly to Australia, all flights will have risk.

As his condition is known, monitoring his condition is incredibly important. Last year he flew as it was not considered dangerous.
The same approach will take place for the rest of his career.
At this point I would expect him to be there unless suspended.
If he is not travelling due to the flight, I would worry about all flights

This whole conversation and a looming suspension is re enforcing my belief the Rams number 1 priority this next offseason is finding a replacement for Jackson.
