Aaron Donald may not be able to hold Sheldon Richardon’s jock. But not many other defensive rookies can hold Donald’s.
The 2014 first-round pick, one of only three rookie Pro Bowlers, is the PFT defensive rookie of the year.
Appearing in all 16 games with nine starts, Donald had nine sacks while playing interior defensive line, and at times he was an unstoppable force on a defense that helped take down some of the league’s elite teams. He surprisingly slid out of the top 10 of the draft, and some of the teams that passed on the former Pitt star likely regret it already.
The other finalists were Raiders linebacker Khalil Mack, Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley, Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr, and 49ers linebacker Chris Borland. Feel free to cast your own vote below. Especially if you agree with us.
Who is the 2014 defensive rookie of the year?
Aaron Donald. Khalil Mack. Anthony Barr. C.J. Mosley. Chris Borland.
