Pretty much that.... Also, I wonder if they will put VM, AD, LF AND Lewis on the field in some packages...
Floyd is too light to play inside. If Morris goes to a double 3T set they could use Lewis at the second 3T but he may not stand up to the pounding. Why people keep discounting Gaine's play is a bit of a head-scratcher. These same people hold SJD in high regard yet Gaines continually outplays him on fewer snaps. Gaines gets better penetration and knows how to shed a block. SJD to this day struggles in both aspects of his game.
IMO Floyd and Miller are pretty much interchangeable. I think Morris will in the beginning play Miller as RDE to get a feel for his compatibility. But I see him rotating sides with Floyd to evaluate matchups in any given game. Lewis goes back to his rotational role filling in on both edges. Okoronkwo remains a one-trick pony. He wins and loses with a bull rush with only an occasional spin move. His hand play is inconsistent at best and he can't drop into coverage. He doesn't play the run well as he is not stout at the POA. Against better OT's he gets stoned. That's why he's going to drop to #3 on the depth chart and probably won't be extended. Okoronkwo's future will be dictated by Garrett's progress as his draft pick was directed at Okoronkwo's position.
So I see their base front 4 as Floyd, AD, Gaines, and Miller with Floyd and Miller interchangeable on which side they play. Both Floyd and Miller play the run well and are 3 down players. With this D front, teams won't be able to pass with just their OL in protection. MIller will force them to keep at least 6 in protection.
Rozeboom gives them needed depth at ILB but they give up some speed at the position if they are looking at Reeder's position. Reeder is a UFA next year and with his performance numbers, he won't lack for offers. With Miller now on board they will need cap money to sign all the OL, Miller, and hopefully Williams. Reeder could be a cap casualty, with Snead perhaps thinking of a possible comp pick for him. That's why I think we will see Rozeboom play some snaps. Christian is a pretty good ILB who understands zone pass concepts. He's much like Jones who uses his anticipation to give him a jump on the play. Both Jones and Rozeboom time about the same in the 40 (4.7 range). But lack of speed at ILB will limit how they are used in pass coverage and will most certainly result at times in playing a dime with another SS playing the ILB role. People downplay Reeder but his game production says otherwise. He won't lack for offers as good MIKE LBs are hard to find.
