Morris getting an interview at this point, is just checking a box to interview a minority. I don't think Morris is quite ready for the next step...but I could be wrong.
I expect Morris would be a really strong interview. Look at his performance in pressers vs some guys like OConnell. If you just went off strength of interview plus experience history Morris would get a job this offseason.

Would mean we get a comp pick for him - so that would be good. But, I'd rather have him back.
I don't think we get a pick for him, but have to dig up the prior thread on this to be sure.

Either way, it sucks to keep losing continuity, but not the worst thing in the world to have the reputation that the best minds can come here to strut their stuff and get a gig.

Happy Jennifer Aniston GIF

Not fair. One crushing, totally dominant defensive playoff performance and they want our coach. And they also interviewed O'Connell.

Why don't they interview someone from the Cowboys instead?

You are right - we need him for 1 more year. Then if he gets a HC gig, we get 2 picks.

Because the Cowboys have a cro-magnon head coach whose team looked unfocused and undisciplined in their quick playoff exit.

That want that rockstar shine you get from McVay. Plus look at his coaching tree holy F.

We wouldn't, has to be with the club for 2 years to get those picks.

Yes I would hire Morris over most of the guys being trotted out there as this year's hot coordinator gang.

I’d rather keep Morris for another year, get comp picks for him getting a HC gig and bring in someone other than another guy looking for a one year jumping off spot.

Well, whatever you think of Morris, he makes a hell of a lot more sense than some of these names being thrown around as HC candidates thus year.
I would like Morris better as HC than defensive coordinator, although his D looked insanely good last night when it counted. But not because he can't coach the D. Instead because he knows both sides of the ball and really does have great leadership ability.

I think Morris would be an outstanding hire for Minnesota. So would O'Connell, but Morris has more experience.

I'm STILL pissed about the 9ers game.. but.. they've been good enough against pretty much everyone else.
The interesting thing will be next season. I would make Von one of the top two offseason priorities.. bring him back and almost your entire defense comes back.. .and if you have the same DC, that'll be interesting to see what they can build.

I'm fine with him returning for year two because I figure he'll be better next year even if his approach sends us home in the playoffs.

My concern is that if he's gonna get a job get it early on, that way McVay can upgrade the spot by going after one of those two big names who are available.

Are the Rams set up to interview Vic Fangio?

Only thing with Fangio is if Jim Harbaugh takes a job anywhere and right now supposedly the Giants are hot on his tail and Flores Fangio will probably follow Harbaugh.

Not being biased but depending on what his goals are he could go be with his buddy or leave an imprint on the NFL with AD Ramsey Floyd possibily Von again and a team willing to win and do what it takes. So we shall see.

I am sure that both Fangio and Zimmer have an eye on Morris and the Rams. If the Rams job opens up early enough McVay would have his pick of DCs. The dude is a rock star. Everyone wants to call this unit too, they know they're gonna have a strong roster and safeties aren't the hardest thing to find.

I just don't like the potential distraction in the midst of a playoff run. I wish there was a way to delay coaching interviews until the postseason ends. I get it it but we have endured a lot of it recently. The price of success
