This game is key. I know they all are, but think about it.
  • We've just gone through the weakest portion of our schedule and have won each by double-digits
  • The media is clearly taking notice, but *almost* all comments are followed by disclaimer of weaker schedule and the tough games coming up
  • This is the beginning of a gauntlet facing division leaders in more than 1/2 of our remaining games
Sooooo, when (not if) we beat the Vikes, the conversation turns from "Look who the Rams have to play" to "Well they still have to play the Rams" for every other NFL team on our schedule. Rams will be cemented in as a no-joke elite NFC team.

I can't wait.

If we go 1-1 these next two games I’ll be happy. Much rather lose to the Saints then the Vikings though. Case Keenum can’t beat us. Drew Brees can.

Wouldn't us knowing Keenums routine help us out a bit especially if our defense knows how he operates?

Yeah, winning this game relieves a bit of pressure on us overall. First off, we don't want to lose to our starting/backup QB from the last several years. That'd just be embarrassing. But also, if we win this game and take care of business against the Cardinals it won't be AS big of a deal if we happen to lose to the Saints and Eagles. Both we are capable of winning but also very capable of losing because they are great teams. If we lose to the Vikings it makes the Saints and Eagles a bit more demanding of a win against at least one.

Only one guy who knows Brees on our team. Anyone want to take a guess?

Rams will be familiar with the this surface in the U.S. Bank Stadium that the Viking play their home games on. Its the same turf that the Rams played on in the Rain @ Met Life Stadium against the Giants. After watching the Rams mush through their worn out gaped home field grass I would think that the Rams may enjoy themselves back on speed turf.

You know, that make me think of GSOT and the Ed...The knock on GSOT was that they were fast on turf and slow on grass...Right now, no one can call our offense slow on grass, so what will the offense do on dry turf? Will Woods and Watkins be that much faster? Will Aaron Donald be that much faster on a surface that doesn't give way under his feet as he's burning Olinemen?

Bad news is that turf is less forgiving on joints.....NO INJURIES BOYS!

I think we Win both of these games! The Rams are "Road Warriors" and will take care of the Vikings!
And the Saints "Traditionally" Don't Travel well, and they will be coming to the Coliseum, we'll have a packed House! It will probably be a "Shoot-Out" but we'll Win!! We owe the Saints a Beat-Down!!

I can't imagine the horror if Keenum beats the Rams secondary deep...

Wait, yes i can -- We will have to endure years of GIF's and YouTube clips at the ready from some who can't let go of the dream die. Sure Case is a nice guy, and GRob, Fisher, and That One Guy who ran the offense last year, didn't do him any favors. And he's helping the Vikes, blah blah blah

Enough

We not only need to win this game but our defense has got to put an end to the Case Keenum's legacy of sadness once and for all

edit: just saw Jrry's thread - i will take my Case Keenum nightmares over there

I’d love to see Brees’ record against The Rams. I feel like he typically does not do well against the horns

The cowboys and Jags games were the proof in the pudding games to me. I dont care how weak our first half of the schedule appears to be, but no ones D is as tough as the Jags D is. We came from behind in Jerry's world when our D was still learning and beat a good Dallas team. I refuse to believe Case beats us this Sunday, so that leaves the Saints and Eagles. 2 very good teams. 2 very good teams and a decent team in the Titans. I'm not anymore worried than i was at the beginning of our season looking at the games before the bye. In fact I'm probably more confident.

Except that time they ran the score up the other year ... a little fuck you to GW ... that trick play when the game was over still sticks in my craw

It was good last year when they racked up 49 points as I sat in the Superdome copping loads of stick. I hope we obliterate them just for that. As for the Vikings, as tough as it is I think we can take them. I’d be disappointed if they don’t show that game over here, easily the best of the early games.

These next two games are the real test for me. So many lucky breaks on our schedule (Dallas without Sean Lee, Texans without Watson, and a Giants team that had already quit on their coach) have caused me to temper my enthusiasm so far. If they can win one of these next two in convincing fashion, then I'll start to believe some of the hype. If not, then I'll know we're the paper tiger I fear we are.

Greg Olson. He was QB coach @ Purdue when Brees was there. Also don't forget about Bill Johnson the defensive line coach who was with the Saints from 2009-2016. We got ammo in our arsenal.(y)

I think this might be a null point about Brees. The Saints are a completely new team this year. They don’t need Brees to do much of anything because they have two top tier RBs and a stout OL that combine to create the NFL’s most best rushing attack. Coincidentally, the Rams biggest weakness is stopping the run.

The way I see it, if the Rams offense doesn’t give us a lead early, the Saints will railroad us on the ground in a similar way to the Redskins game except with better runners.

As for Minnesota, we are much better equipped to handle them. Murray is no slouch but the Vikings do most of their damage in the air which is what we want. The difficulty will be breaking through their elite defense, especially in a dome. Everyone proclaiming the Rams as the obvious victor are only looking at the weaknesses of the Vikings and disregarding what has won them 7 games.

I believe this is the pivotal game of the season in the way that if they can win this screw the media but more importantly they are at 8 wins with the team still improving so to make the playoffs I believe 10 wins gets you in 11 for sure so even if they tanked the rest of the way and went 2-4 after this game I believe they still would be in. The only thing that could stop this team is injuries of course, and most importantly if they lose a couple of these games and being so young lose a ton of confidence and start to hear same ole Rams crap. So to me I want this next game badly. As far a Keenum I have no ill will against him he was a soldier for this awfully run team a good teammate and he was put into a no win situation thanks to no talent line, coaching, etc. with that being said we need to destroy him and the Vikings!!!!!
