If Havenstein plays, I see Stafford on his game. If we have Noteboom at RT, then Stafford will think he has to get the ball out quickly and he has a tendency to misread coverages/routes because of that. Look at some of the throws in the Cardinals game. I swear he was worried all the time that Noteboom's guy would get to him.
So can he do what Garoppolo just did? We didn't pass protect well at all yesterday; Jimmy G was under pressure all day yet he moved the ball well.

If we don't beat minny I'm gonna be in shambles. No way we should lose to Sam darnold at home.
He missed so many open throws last night, especially in the red zone. I really think this game comes down to whether we get pressure on him or not. I expect our offense to score and move the ball.

Yea it was bad. I really want to believe in our offense to win the gm for us but they've been really inconsistent this season and the hope is they're on in the playoffs. My gut is telling me our defense is gonna have to continue to win gms for us with that being said.

HAVE to use Jordan Whittington more.

(I'm not saying he's better than Kupp) but his speed/athleticism is clearly on another level than Kupp right now. Need to use him.
I like him in the Skowronek FB role where he can block, run, or catch a screen. He adds another dimension to the offense. They showed this already, but I would expect some new twists with Whittington for the playoffs.

My perfect wild card weekend scenario:

Rams beat Minny
GB beats Philly
Wash beats TB

That would send GB to Detroit and Wash to LA.

The next week GB over Detroit and Rams over Wash

That would give us 3 straight home games.

This is the way.

Yeah I agree. I think the Rams tried to involve him earlier this season but he wasn't ready. Judging off this last game, however, he looks like he may be ready now. So what you do is vs the Vikes work him in for Kupp, or work him in elsewhere, but get him more involved and see if maybe he can give the offense a shot in the arm.

Vikings won't be gameplanned for Whit. So yeah he might be poised for a bit of a breakout. I don't think he's a game changer or anything. But he looks like he's got some quality fit for this offense.

Darnold is a decent QB when he has a clean pocket & recognizable coverages. If the Rams young D can figure out how to disguise their coverages like detriot did, and get at his feet he will show he's the same Sam Darnold that we've all come to know.

I think people are selling Minnesota short. I definitely see us as under-dogs. The spread is currently 2.5, and I honestly thought it would be a bit more.

Addison has really come on lately. He is legit weapon right now. Add Jefferson and Hockenson to the mix, and that is a deadly air attack for the Vikings against what is a pretty meh secondary for the Rams - albeit one that is coming on strong in recent weeks, particularly situationally. Darnold is a very capable QB - do not let last night fool you with recency bias. Aaron Jones is a great RB and a true dual threat. How soon we forget him running all over us when we met the Packers in the playoffs. We all know Kevin O'Connell is a great coach. Their defence is good and leads the league in turn-overs I believe. They are particularly good at breaking up horizontal passes - not good news for McVay's loved tosses to Puka along the line of scrimmage.

We caught the Vikings at a good time this year and I think that is clouding some fans' judgment. We got them on a short week, with them flying cross-country, to play on the road. They lost their LT mid-game. The Rams were playing for their lives. We still barely won. The way some people in this thread are talking you would never know the Vikings finished 14-3 in the best division in football. And you don't think they will be fired up after that loss to Detroit in prime time?

We do have a big QB advantage though, which on its own can at times be the difference. We also have a (less big) coaching advantage - McVay is one of the few i'd take over KOC. We are also at home, which is big, even if Minnesota fans travel well, and we are facing a franchise that has not yet learned how to win. Things might snowball if they lose control at any point. "Oh no, here we go again, another choke". Kicking is so important in the playoffs. Karty appears to be firing on all cylinders at just the right time, whereas their rookie kicker seems to be imploding after coming off an injury. I think the Rams can pull off the upset. But it will take a huge effort. Minnesota is a heavy Super Bowl contender. The Rams are a good team but one more good draft away from being in that class IMO - but any given Sunday!

Weighted DVOA for the entire season has us ahead of the Vikings for all those doubting the Rams…
