That's a lot of $$ for a cat who's missed 26 games in last 2 years

I think they only have to pay him around 6 mil next year so that's pretty cheap for 2 years total, and if he fucks up this year they can easily walk away without damaging their cap. Browns trying to retain clowney.

Yeah, next years salary is around 6 for hunter. That's why his last 2 years would average out cheaply

Been looking at how many of these still remaining alleged UFA edge players are effective/ healthy/ not trending downward / experienced 34 OLB'ers.....not very many!

Most all primarily 43 D DE's or can not meet the above. DC Morris already has a few of the typical 43 DE's on the roster already i.e. Ernest Brown & Jonah Williams. Not sure where they will fit in with our DL now.

Chris Garrett & Terrell lewis :injury:@ 6-5 265 are also much closer to a 43 D DE than OLB'er. DC Morris could efficiently & easily field a 43 D if needed not what I would prefer though but he could easily do it to fit what the Rams have.

At this time If I were Snead I would be planning on filling the roster needs @ 34 D OLB'er in this upcoming draft. I would consider the replacement NT run stuffer SJ-D's DL roster spot with a veteran pass-rushing skilled DL'er Morgan Fox after he has come down in his asking price.

Fox was released prior to the beginning of free agency, so he shouldn't adversely affect those 2023 Comp picks. He's already a proven player in our system, so I'd drop Hoescht to the practice squad to make room on the 53 for Fox.
Of those Edge players you mention that may be more 4-3 DE tweener types, and if you are primarily seeking someone to fit a rotational ROLB role, of those, I believe 4-3 DE Arden Key (6'5", 240 lbs.) might be the safest bet due to his size, young age and likely being one of the more inexpensive candidates still available. jmo.

I will take Melvin Ingram. He really helped KC's D the second half of the season. Have him split time to keep him fresh for the home stretch.
