Ok. Full admission. You and 20hrswk work for PFF - right???

Seriously - I often look up players PFF ratings but that’s because I love stats. I prefer to use my own eyes for my primary assessment (as flawed as that might be) and PFF/ESPN stats, FFB stats/etc. as complimentary.

I think it's a bias, and very subjective grading system.
This thread is about PFF's grading of players. That's not what NFL teams are paying for. Again, they're paying for the data PFF collects (ex. how many out routes Cooper Kupp ran this year, how effective he was on those routes, and how that compared to other NFL WRs). The grades are for the fans.
I don’t work for PFF, but I am a customer.

Without looking at PFF or other source . . .

Justice Hill - what is your "primary assessment" of him?

Speedy scat back who doesn't break a ton of tackles (though, he can slip a tackle in space now and then) and lacks the size/bulk to carry the load. Solid role player.

I've got a similar process.

I use my eyes primarily for Rams players and then refer to PFF, Next Gen, ESPN, and other analytical data. Most of the time, it's within ballpark of what I expected. Sometimes it's way off, like when they say Kyren is not good at pass pro, in which case I ignore their assessment.

For non-Rams players I use the analytical data first and then my eyes because I don't see all of them play often.
