He completely removed Dallas' defensive front through his use of scheme, yeah it was impressive. And what I also found interesting is that he quickly had the Dallas ILBs flowing fast with the jet actions too on a lot of plays. So it seems like he's going to double down on the jet usage to make teams respect it (most LB units last season completely disregarded it).

Loved that! This is the bloodline of any football game. An absolute joy to watch.

If you have time to watch... this is a really nice breakdown of the Rams attack last Sunday.

Nice find.
It described clearly what the rest of us see out there.

Some of the quick slants like to Higbee for example were a great wrinkle to add. Ive been hoping for that play for a few years. Not sure why it’s not utilized more. Goff throws an excellent slant.

The offense would have looked simply unstoppable if a few of the Drops were eliminated as well.

McVay really needs to draw up some red zone pass plays. We are going no where until we start converting drives into TD’s.

Needs to start throwing into the endzone from the 25 on in. Never seems to do it on 1st down. Then on 3rd it will be a bubble screen.

It’s a really interesting chess match, teams have caught on to the jet motion and all the window dressing and mostly ignored it. I was thinking well what do we do now, guess that’s why I don’t coach. McVay doubles down on getting the ball to the flat, throwing screens to just about everyone, especially Robert m-f-ing Woods. So now what? Continue to disregard the jet motion and give up chunks of yardage? Hopefully Akers or Henderson can exploit the problems this can cause, but it’s a good start. McVay did a number on the cowboy defense but the real test is teams like SF or the bills.

It really comes down to execution and defenders that can either instinctively read where the play is going or have the skill via speed or shedding blocks to limit the play. Batting down passes is something Dallas was able to do a few times.

Overall I think the scheme is really solid. If the OC can determine which way the defense tends to be playing it then he can effectively exploit their defense. If they cover the flats with DE's cheating then some more longer developing 20+ deep ins and such could be worked in, basically going over the first level of defense, this happens to be Goff's strength. No one is better then Goff in that range. No one had more 20+ yard plays last year.

The two things I think we really need to do are take some deep shots and hand the ball of on those WR end arounds. It just will really spread the defense thin and keep them honest.

Dammit, why'd y'all have to change oldnotdead's title? Now my little quip makes no sense, lawl. :ROFLMAO::LOL:

I didn't think anyone would get the GOT connection. The Rams are the rising of the media dead to scare the bejeebers out of the NFL. This offseason and even now the media has all but put the headstone on the Ram's grave. Even now some media "gurus" still don't believe the team they buried has risen.

What I loved about the breakdown is how McVay understands what every defender's reads are and he uses it against them. To the point, they stop trusting those reads, and when they do they're dead because they are always a step behind in their reactions.

Sorry I didn't see your post as I spent all day helping my girlfriend's sister move into her new apartment, a nice 2 bedroom with parking for $200/mo. in a nice neighborhood in Nogales. You have no idea how many US citizens live in Nogales, Sonora, and work in AZ. As usual, they live in their own enclaves and the landlords gouge them for doubled rents like $200/mo. It even comes with a washer and dryer in a service room. The same type of setup I had in Popotla.
