At the start of the season with the schedule I wouldn't have been too upset with 3-1 after the first 4 games. I wouldn't expect the loss to be against the Bucs though. Pretty inexcusable performance. A lot of work to do but not going to be too hard on this team just yet. Things will look a lot different if we beat Seattle on Thursday.

Yeah, it's a shame he can't block for himself, too.

This one was on playcalling, offensive line and defense. Goff took hit after hit today and stood in there. He wasn't perfect but he was far from "not being it."
We get it. It's always everyone except our QB.

McVay’s playcalling annoyed the hell outta me, but I kinda understand where he’s coming from. This offensive line is a liability. The few times we did run it Gurley and Brown were getting met in the backfield on most carries.

The most angering thing about this game is it feels like an extension of our play from the end of last season. Get your heads out your asses Rams.

A million false starts at home....WTH is that. It might be a NFL record! Hav is a freaking turn style, Brown missed blitz pickups, Whits holding...Kromer...step it up.

Jarred for the love of god, step up in the pocket and always have two hands on the ball! 9/10 times he fumbles its late in the play, one of the tackles is being beat, and he doesn’t step up and tries to throw. I’ve seen it for 2 years now. Haven’t the Rams addresses this?

MP, sure you got a pick 6, but your inability to play man coverage severely limits the abilities of this D!

This was bad on all phases, i mean for christ sakes GZ sent the opening kick outta bounds. He’s done that a few times this year.

What the hell happened to the Rams.

P.S. I miss Saffold a lot

Agreed 1,000%.

The offensive line is not near good enough. We have no chance of going anywhere with this o-line. I posted at length several times about needing to keep Saffold. See: https://ramsondemand.com/threads/saffold-signs-with-tennessee.57700/page-9#post-1193155 Why teams think they can cheap out on the o-line, is beyond me. Goff is under constant duress.

Way too many penalties. Many of which get back to a pathetic o-line. Not good...

Goff's turnovers need to stop. The lack of ball security is embarrassingly bad. And honestly, he isn't a good enough passer to shrug it off as taking the good with the bad. He had a great first half of last season. Other than that, he has been good but nothing special in his career. It might well have just been a hot streak last year. Why did that not occur to management before giving him that much guaranteed money? I actually like Goff. I think he can be a franchise QB for us. But I don't think he proved enough to justify that contract.

The play calling is bad. Worse, it's predictable. We seem to have been figured out on offense, to some extent. Gurley sure looked healthy to me on the few carries he got. Why not use him more? I sure hope the answer is not that his knee is damaged goods, because if it is, this team is definitely not a Super Bowl contender.

Defense was atrocious. Winston had all day. The tackling was poor. We had no answer to stop the pass (in particular Godwin), the run, and were completely incapable of getting off the field on 3rd down. It looked to me like the team did not take the Bucs offense seriously enough. Why that is I have no idea. Evans, Godwin, Howard, and Jones are some pretty solid weapons.

The injury to Rapp looked pretty bad. This will impact the defence significantly.

I was worried that this team would take a large step backward this year. So far, it seems to be the case. It's a long season. The Patriots did not look like Super Bowl contenders at the 1/4 mark of last season. But I am not optimistic the Rams will be turning this around any time soon.

I could vent much more but already have typed too much. On to Seattle.

Ok so basically what we're gonna get from Goff is:

1. Missing the wide open throws

2. Throwing accurately into heavy traffic
2a) Throwing INT's into heavy traffic

3. Getting stripped whenever the pocket collapses

What an awful post. The Pats lost by 30 points in 2014.
Wouldn't call it a bad post, but a gut check? How tough are you? Can you overcome adversity, can you be the bigger person, how will you respond?

McV and Rams need a gut check right here

Agreed. People are upset we aren't running it, and that's understandable, but I'm sure McVay is not stupid enough to neglect it this blatantly. He clearly has zero faith in our shambles of an O-Line to get the run game going.

As for the defense...
Where was the pass rush? Is this on Wade or the players?

Did we ever deviate from the 3wr-1rb-1te formation?

28 yards rushing on 11 carries?

I do not know who is more effective at shutting down the Ram run game, the opponents, or the Ram offensive coaches.

But, when you give up nearly 28 points a half I suppose it really does not matter.
