VENT Vent thread - Rams at Falcons

I hear what he’s saying but I think he’s just covering for his players. I didn’t think the offensive or defensive game plan was bad tonight. Guys were consistently put in place to make plays and they didn’t. Stafford missed some open throws, and then when he made them we’d have a penalty. Or it was dropped. We made contact with Bijan in the backfield on 95% carries and guys were just never able to bring him down. It’s not like Saquon last year where he was out the gate untouched. Guys were right there and just couldn’t bring him down.

Lotta good stuff there.

After the seahawk game I said, “too many drops.”

The defense has not been tackling well of late. Potential picks are being dropped.

Assignments are just being missed on offense—there IS a player there to block. He’s just missing.

That flat punt vs the seahawks? Down the middle of the field? Cmon. You know the punter is not being told to do that.

Stafford has not been on the same page as his receivers. Notice he’s not missing as much to Nakua as he his with the other receivers.

I don’t necessarily think it’s bad game planning or preparation. It looks like bad football in all phases. That’s on the players not doing their jobs.

I don’t want to blame the game on the refs because the Rams played poorly enough to lose on their own, but…

This is two games in a row that a key call was made that looked unbelievably piss poor. Game altering. When two announcers and an ex-official in the booth, who are supposed to be unbiased, ALL see this as a catch, WTF is NY looking at? How do you miss this?
What was the explanation for upholding that call? Feet out of bounds? Did not maintain control after hitting the ground? Juggling?

I didn’t see any of those things. I saw a catch.
This was worse than the call vs the seahawks—and that’s saying something.

The ball came loose & he didn’t establish possession all the way through while in bounds.

-It’s an easy concept,but hard to take away such a good catch.The sideline ends up being like a extra defender in a weird way.

My GF understands the rule now.We watch the SC game & a similar play happened late.We both agreed if Puka’s wasn’t a catch this to play couldn’t be a catch either.They got The Call Right as well.

I’m a Rams Fan.Have a friend that watches a lot of games & a Bears fan.He had Puka on his Fantasy Team.He was pissed at DJ Humpries taking points off the board.He need 4 points to WIN the Championship in his league.Don’t know how many points that catch would’ve given him.As much as I wanted it to be a catch I knew he didn’t keep possession all the way through.Can’t believe he caught it with ONE HAND like a Glove.

Hmmm, nobody knows how that unfolded. But if that was a NEW YORK driven rule, then the NFL is rigged. Because the rule book clearly says that a fumble on a 2-point conversion can only be advanced by the player that fumbled.

It wasn’t a fumble though. It was ruled a backward pass and they can be advanced.
