You'll likely see the Big 12 make a play for the remaining big schools like the Oregons, Washingtons, Utah and Colorado's. The rest merge with the Mountain West. Just my guess but this happened because the Pac12 schools took a dive in football recruiting power.
USC's recruiting was always in the top 10 with Carroll but ever since he left, the school has taken a nose dive in the recruiting rankings.

Of course, the majority of that was due to the sanctions. However, the sanctions ended a few years ago and the previous coach couldn't recruit worth a crap. He was absolutely terrible and USC recruiting ranking was in the 50s with him. I absolutely hated that coach and he only won the one season when he had Darnold at QB.

Haha Gavin Newsom speaking out against the move :eyeroll:

Idk if I wouldn’t rather have Oregon or Utah in The Big 10.
Utah. Can't have enough teams with red / white as their primary colors.

What more proof do you need of east coast media bias. The east coast media is the driving force for all this. You can switch conferences but that's not going to remove the bias.

Harder to recruit when you’re being watched like a hawk because of what Pete did

Again -they were not busted for recruiting violations.

They were busted for not controlling their student body football players on campus.

They allowed them free reign to interact with agents and other stuff.

USC definitely needed to be sanctioned, just not as much as the NCAA did.

The main violation was USC not knowing/ignoring (did they didn't they) that Bush's parents were given a really nice house to rent by an agent for almost nothing on Lake Elsinore which is 3 hours from the USC campus.

USC's problem has been their coaching hires.

Ejected?!? That's a blind side block and should be enforced 15 yards from the infraction. If he wound up to strike the player in the head with a haymaker, that would merit targeting and a DQ.
Not even a blind side block they were numbers to numbers shoulders square. That's a great block.

Incorrect. The player was defenseless (didn't see the lineman), the lineman was running parallel to his end line, and the lineman led with a forearm instead of his hands. That's a perfect example of a blindside block and has been made illegal for player safety.

Got it he's running after the QB who's right next to the OL who does a perfect block on him. Sounds defenseless to me running after a QB to get a sack.

A forearm shiver to the helmet is not a legal block at any level. Technically it would qualify as targeting with the potential blow to the head. I wouldn't DQ the player, but he would at least need to come off the field for a drive to get his head straight.

A forearm shiver is when you actually hit someone with your forearm - generally by swinging it and striking him with the forearm and elbow. He hits him with his shoulder pad, then shoves him to the ground with his forearm. Not even close to a forearm shiver. How is he supposed to block in that position? I guess he's not allowed to finish his block either and must let the defender stand.

He makes contact with his forearm and follows through with it as you can see the arm extend at the end of the clip. The blocker needs to use his hands in that situation and not try to light a player up by cleaning his clock with a WWE move.

It's really difficult to tell from the angle whether he catches the USC player in the neck or the chest pads. Regardless, it's dangerous and not a legal football play.

I asked the other three members on my Saturday crew and we all agreed it should have been a blind side block.

As a B1G fan I don’t like it. Most Big Ten teams are not able to recruit nationally like USC and Oregon. Exposure to them may mean more Northern B1G footprint recruits get drawn to West Coast glamour, weakening the conference as a whole.

It will become USC vs Ohio State or Michigan every year in the finals.
