Okay, sorry for the dumb question but what happened to wearing dark colors at home and light colors on the road???

It's always been home team's choice. Most just happen to choose dark.

Kinda like somewhere along the line I noticed most teams stopped taking the ball when they won the coin toss. Or maybe I never noticed teams defer when I was a kid lol.

Not actually a rule just one of those things teams usually preferred to do. Cowturds have been wearing white as their home jersey I think for forever.

Ground Zero of teams deferring stems from the 2006 AFC Championship Game, when Indianapolis scored just before Halftime, and then on first possession of 2nd Half, to turn a 21-3 deficit to 21-13 en route to a classic comeback.

Side Note- In Baseball the "100 pitch count" stems from Grady Little leaving Pedro Martinez in after 100 pitches in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS and blowing the series.

Just a guess, but... haven't the Rams felt that the team wearing white has a slight advantage on a brutally hot day? Seems like the Rams have sometimes chosen to wear white during September home games.

Also somewhere along the line they've added a yard to FG's on the snap. Forever you would add 17 yards to the line of scrimmage to figure out the length to a FG but 2-3 years ago it became 18 yards.

Just my 2 cents...
Seems like they add 18 yards for the really long FG attempts (about 53 yards and longer), since the kicker has to kick at a lower trajectory if he's gonna make it... so they add the extra yard to reduce the chance of it getting blocked.

For "normal length" FG attempts, I thought they still stuck to adding about 17 yards.

Just my recollection of recent stuff, I could be wrong. I'll pay attention this season, curious if it's still "add 17 yards for regular FG attempts, add 18 yards for the really long FG attempts."

Yeah, @LouisvilleRam is right... teams routinely line up 8 yards behind the LOS for FG attempts nowadays. I was just now re-watching some of the AZ-LAR playoff game, and I noticed that on the Rams' extra point attempt, Hekker put the ball down 8 yards behind the LOS.

So yeah, to calculate the length of a FG attempt, add 18 to the LOS number. Used to be 17, now it's 18.
