Why would he? I mean yeah, his draft status exceeds what he did for the Rams. However, the Rams also didn't give him too many opportunities to showcase his skillset. When he was on the field he was a good WR. Bummer but he's not the WR the Rams team needs right now.

The offseason speculation is in full swing being passed off as facts. Having said that this isn't surprising news if true. If Tutu finds the right situation he could make himself more money then he would in his current role here.

I think Atwell was drafted at a time when defenses started to transition to a lot of two high safety shells which changed McVay's thinking as far as attacking defenses. Atwell was schemed out of a starting job by circumstance.

McVay always underused Tutu and it really frustrated me. I hope he gets more reps wherever he goes… and I will root for him!

Tutu will almost assuredly produce more then he did with us since McVay didn't utilize him at all unless he was the only man standing in the WR room. When he actually got snaps, he produced. Sounds like a solid guy to have to me.

I too never understand how you have a speed demon like that on your team and not at least send him deep so defenses had to respect the deep ball. Opens up all the underneath stuff. McVay fucked up there if you ask me and I wasn't even a fan of him being drafted. If I were him, I'd leave and be like fuck that team since his opportunities were limited.

One of the ways you can attack 2-high is with a long ball guy. You just run past the safeties. It's how Miami's done it for the last few years.

Tutu was a wasted draft pick partially because of his physical limitations and because the Rams simply didn’t know what to do with him. It’s pretty obvious neither McVay or Stafford truly trusted him. He’s likely going to get a one year prove it type contract and his ceiling will be similar to another Ram Cam Akers.

Tutu never fit this McVay’s offense. That’s the main reason he wasn’t used.

Another reason, predictably was his size. McVay had to try to get him free releases which meant adjusting what he wanted to do.

I doubt Tutu blows up with another offense. Man up on him and push him around. He will always be a #3 receiver or lower.

McVay played Kupp over Nacua and he doesn’t even want Kupp anymore. How good can Tutu really be?

Except, seems like Stafford throws at him fairly frequently in his limited snaps, so this whole "trust" thing doesn't hold credence. Hell, he threw at him in a critical money at the end of the Eagles game, one of only two snaps he played.

I think we should have used more 10 personnel. That way we could have the three blocking WRs that McVay likes to have, and also have Tutu running deep to back the defense off.
Oh well, won't happen now.

Hear me out, Tutu looked like a bust when we picked him. I appreciate that he came back after year one and put in the work and at least was a useful tool.

He was overdrafted for sure. But he provided some utility and depth off the bench.

(His greatest crime was not being able to play ST at all!)

Tutu won me over. He got better every year. By the time it was all said and done, he was over drafted, but perhaps only because he never got enough reps to prove otherwise - all he did when targeted was make plays, great speed, great routes, routinely got open, reliable hands, just never got the ball. I would not re-sign with the Rams if I was him either. But I'd welcome him back if they money was right. Which given his production... I can't see how he demands much on the market. Whoever lands him probably gets a WR that outperforms their cap hit 10x over.
