The defense is always something you try to build on. Yes at the end the defense didn’t hold up against Atlanta, but how many turnovers , bad Field position , and not that many points.
Primary issue was their inability to stop the run. It was a problem all season long really and I guarantee it is an offseason priority. Early on they sucked at it, got better for a while, then reverted back to who they were. Our elimination vs Atlanta in the playoffs was largely due to the run defense and our offense's inability to get it done. They need to improve at NT and ILB at a minimum, but preferably will add some OLB depth too.
Second issue of course is restacking the secondary. They played pretty well, but depth was exposed and with Tru leaving they had to ensure quality was there. This is why the Peters move was so brilliant, if they'd given up more it still would have been a good deal. Now they only need to add a CB2 at a minimum in this CB deep draft. That CB1 slot being alleviated is just a huge move.
