This reeks of whiner created BS. Acting like teams are calling about this bust to try and drum up interest for him. Good luck douchers. If any team trades for him, they deserve what they get. Watch the Texans fuck around and find out.... They seem stupud enough.

That they have had teams call about him doesn't put him on the trading block :D The whiners are pretty screwed next year at QB. Can't count on Lance playing well or staying healthy and they have no idea yet if Purdy will be ready for the season.

If Shanahan is moving on after 9 games, nobody should offer more than a bag of chips.

Lance doesn’t have it.

He cannot process the field quick enough and his passing accuracy is not NFL caliber.

I wouldn't write off Darnold so quickly in that offense. He played well at the end of the year with the lowly Panthers. All evidence would suggest the whiners doucher coach can get that out of him.

That's a fact.
Shanny seems to get a lot out of all of his qbs.

If he can't make something out of Lance, nobody can.

If Lance hasn't mastered reading defenses and going through his progression under Shanny after all this time it doesn't bode well for his career as a quality starter. It would mean he's strictly a half field RPO QB. The style that the Niners run isn't that far from what he ran ND State. What is different are the NFL defensive schemes. But he's had two years to show he can master it. He should have done it by now.

Quality QBs in the NFL don't take more than 2 years to show they can play at this level. It means any team getting him would have to "dumb-down" the offensive concepts. Basically, it's why AZ is circling the drain with Murray. That's all Murray can play, is a simplistic RPO.

I think Lance is horrible. Even Shanahan can’t make something of him. Maybe in 4-6 years he’ll turn into an average QB at best.

Now Darnold - that’s a different story. I could see Shanny making him into something above average and him being a problem for the NFC West.

Darnold has legit talents. His problem is in his head. He thinks he's better than he is. That's why he's still a backup. He apparently doesn't take coaching well. Let's get real about Darnold. He's on his 3rd team since 2018 and he's shown he's at least backup talent. His problem is he still can't read and go through his progressions properly. That is in his head not his arm. It's why he's an INT machine. IMO this is his last stop in SF. If he can't get it together in SF he can't play anywhere. IMO 2 years in SF and he's either proving he can be a starter or he will be a backup for the rest of his NFL career.

People forget Darnold was recruited into USC as a LB. He didn't play QB until his sophomore year in high school. Until then he was a WR and LB. Granted he looked very good in HS as a QB. But then he went to USC and insisted he was a QB. He redshirted his first year as he learned the position. Then he started for two years then he left early for the NFL. Had he stayed at least one more year at USC he would have been much better prepared to play in the NFL.

So here he is now pretty much the same guy that came into the league in 2018. He hasn't grown professionally. We point at Lance and say how much longer? Well it's pretty much the same thing with Darnold. He could stick around for a few more years as a backup, but the guy has squandered his talent in search of fame and fortune. He got the money, but not the fame. If Shanny can't turn his career around than no one is going to.

Compare Mayfield and Darnold and I see polar opposites. Mayfield has clearly grown and improved as an NFL QB. Darnold has not, and it shows even though IMO Darnold has more talent. The difference is Baker is driven to improve himself while Darnold isn't. Baker was headed down the same road as Darnold but at some point he realized he needed to improve his game as an NFL QB. So now he has. I've seen far more professional growth in Mayfield than Darnold to this point in their respective careers. Darnold is more gifted, but Mayfield is more driven so Baker is the better NFL QB.
