I would just do a decent hotel near the airport and rent a car for your exploration day(s). For gameday, just Uber in and out. Your hotel will only be 2-4 miles from the stadium
And that 2 - 4 mile trip may not be a good walk. That is a bad area around there - at least the last time I was there in 2002.

It might be better now since they are putting the stadium up in that area.

Lol

I lived in LA for my first 40 years in San Pedro/Palos Verdes (my area changed to PV in 1978 I think) Fullerton La Palma Glendale and Redondo Beach

I used to go to the track at Hollywood Park where the stadium is now and that was a really terrible area once you left the racetrack.

Also do not get off the 110 freeway before you get to downtown area where the tall buildings are, the 91 freeway (before and after the 710 freeway) and the 10 freeway just east of the 110 freeway.

Those are terrible areas to get off at if you don't know where you are going.

Right now I think theres only a 20% chance there will be actual fans at games in September. Especially in LA. Garcetti and Newsome are gonna fight tooth and nail for prolonged social distancing. Live college classes are already postponed until 2021 in Cali. Its too bad-really looking forward to the SOFI opener

Living in south Orange County 52 years I can honestly say OC is worth the drive as LA is a gutter. However, knowing the libs that run this state there is a great chance football WILL NOT be played in ca till after the election. The dem created covid helps them create an opportunity to take away the economy from a sitting president that does not have a D next to his name I am so proud of the NFL for stating “the games will be played, in OR out of ca”. So proud! Knowing this you’ll not want to reserve anything that isn’t 100% refundable.
