8to12 wearing his emotions on his sleeve:
I guess I'm a little emotionally invested in what happened ; I was there, 30 yards away. On 2 separate occasions I witnessed a Cowboy player instigating illegal contact after the whistle. Did some of the Rams players take cheap shots ? Yes, as did many of the Cowboy players. I don't condone that behavior.
Let me just start out by saying the Cowgirls suck.
It's the culture. I watched a discussion that somebody posted with Bayless and Smith talking about the brawl (this one and others) yesterday and I rarely watch or agree with anything Bayless (Smith is only incrementally better) says but this time I agreed with both of them. They both said the NFL should do away with the mixed practices and the only difference between the two of them was that Smith said the blame for the fighting should be apportioned equally between the players and the coaches/team and I agree with Smith.
While the contention that fights are inevitable is true, that's only because the teams/league encourage it (IMO) and it isn't right but that doesn't bother me so much. It's those cheap shots you mentioned that really get my goat. From both a moral perspective and an injury perspective. What would we be saying/feeling if GR had been injured was was out for the season because of a cheap shot he couldn't protect himself from?
What
REALLY gets my goat though is the fact that we get so many retaliatory penalties. To me, that just shows a lack of discipline and that's on the coaches IMO. Cogs could be baited into a penalty just by trash talk and we eventually had to let him go because of that. I don't want any more players like that on my team.
Last but not least, the Cowgirls suck.
