He was a pretty good receiver in college i read, gotta somethin there
train
College was a long time ago, and he only had 1 decent season. Got drafted strictly due to his speed and he hasnt done anything in the pros. I'd take a flyer on him, dont get me wrong. I just wouldnt have very high expectations

For the NFL, Ross is a speed receiver who can stretch a defense vertically. He is fast running down the field and is explosive off the line of scrimmage. Not only is he fast, but Ross is quick and sudden. He is very skilled at creating quick separation from cornerbacks because of his speed and quick-twitch athleticism. While Ross is a threat to challenge teams downfield, he is dangerous on short passes like slants, crosses and digs because of his ability to get open quickly. That also makes him valuable in the red zone even though he doesn't have significant size.

Sometimes guys just end up in the dog house, on the other hand the criticism of his route running sounds remarkably similar to Tavon Austin. I suppose the answer is somewhere in between. One thing for sure though, Cincinnati has no need for Josh Reynolds, not sure any team does.
Either way, at least the trade talk will be over soon
There's some teams out there that could use him I think. Like the Colts for example. Prob is he's going to end up being more valuable to us than what any team offers (which wouldn't be much).

Same with Everett unfortunately. And there's also teams you don't want to trade him to. I wouldn't trade him to any division rival his ass would go to the AFC lol, which means a smaller group of potential teams.

Give me a plus centre, remove the need to use M. Brown as a NT chip blocker and that will open up another passing option.

Re: Ross he doesn't run good routes, won't high point a ball and lastly isn't physical in any part of the game of football. Thats a liability.

Guys, coach asks WRs to block so be be mindful of this w/ picking names out of a hat.

Q: Does anyone think Ross on a jet sweep, would "commit" lead blocking or doing a tough reach block??? C'mon boys & gals we need a football player

Might need to make a move for someone. Cooper Kupp has a wrist fracture.

Kupp had 4 catches AFTER jamming his wrist, by the way.

Still can’t find anything confirming a serious injury or even a pending MRI.

The more I think about it the more I believe this could help the offense. I don't think Van has that kind of speed despite being the fastest at the Senior Bowl.

I also wonder why Van is not seeing the field much. Maybe he's struggling with the playbook or maybe his blocking skills aren't good enough for this offense yet. Which brings about the question. What is Ross' problem in Cincinnati? If its that he doesn't block or is freelancer then he wouldn't work out. If its just a personality thing then I'd take him for a half a season.

I am beginning to think Jefferson may have been a mistake considering they decuded to? Xtend Kupp & Woods.

Don't get me wrong, I think he eill be very good, but he is the same guy we have in Kupp and Woods already. We needed to add a more dynamic threat to compliment Woods & Kupp.

So surprised they didn't go for more of a deep threat type even if that guy would not be as polished as Jefferson.

Now maybe they did not originally plan on extending both Woods & Kupp and it just came out that way after they held contract talks with both of those camps.

In any event they need a more dynamic down the field threat that teams fear can run by them. Right now our passing game is pressed up 20 yds or less from the line of scrimmage at best.

I agree. They must have taken less money than expected. Or maybe, they took less money because of the Jefferson pick.

I suspect they're having issues with guys not lining up right (you see it pre-snap across multiple games with Everett and the RBs) and knowing their assignments. Snead talked about how the offense has grown, McVay has built upon things and it's gotta be tough for the young guys.

So installing another rookie over a vet who knows the drill like Reynolds is probably hard for them to accept. Whereas we as fans only see Jefferson's routes and want to see him in there. I'm sure the staff wants Van in there too they just see it deeper and know more what these guys have mastery of and what they need to work on.

This is where the high expectations are so important on McVay's part IMO. This offense isn't there yet but with him running the show the players will be pushed and pushed some more to meet it. And at some point we're going to get a boost from both Jefferson and Akers.
