I love the idea of getting Ferg going. But he doesn't look ready to me yet and this is a contender.

Andrews should be in play for a round 4-5 pick. That's not too rich for me to consider him, given that maybe he has more in him than meets the eye. His drop in the playoffs was like a knife in the heart and hurt his standing in that locker room. So he could end up being one of those cheap additions that recovers some of his prior form in this offense, being set free from all that with a fresh playoff run in LA.

Now maybe the Rams feel like Ferg is going to be contributing down the stretch, or soon. And that's fine if that is the case. But a midround pick is not too much to ensure you have enough big targets over the middle for a playoff run. Higs is a good inline TE. What we need is that pass threat TE who has the instincts in that phase.

If a corner they like comes available then again I'm all for that and it should be the priority. But failing that one way to make this team better is improve that presence over the middle and Andrews helps us in the redzone as well.

Another point on Jeffrey Simmons.

The Titans are in good cap shape right now; and are in Great Cap Shape for the 2026 off-season. Why would they trade a top-tier defensive lineman, who just turned 28 a couple months ago and should be in his prime for nothing more than a draft choice that figures to be no higher than the mid-50's?

If Simmons is That Good ... and, I think he is ... he garners, at least, a 1st Round draft choice.
Problem with that is finding a team that is willing to pay that. I'm guessing rival GMs are like, if he's that good, why doesn't your team have a better record? Why isn't your defense more dominant? I think tops he'll fetch is a 2nd rounder thanks to that plus the size of his contract.

I would be happy about Olave, wonder what the asking price is for him. Truly would like a good center or CB as first priorities, but, Olave is a good young WR (unfortunately with a concussion problem).
I'm a no on Olave unless the trade compensation is low. His concussion history scares the shit outta me.

Like the idea, but question I have is will McVay actually use him in the redzone?

Because one great defensive player does not automatically make for a great defense, or a winning team.
Definitely agree there (unless its AD lol) but its just what I'd expect GMs to say because they obviously want to get the upper hand in a trade and not give up too much. Its smart of them to use every reason/excuse as to not give up too much in draft capital.

Sure GMs can try to leverage that argument but that would be balanced by multiple teams being interested in obtaining him since he's a great player. At the end of the day, market value will drive what he costs in trade comp.

Definitely agree that the market drives a lot but I'm still highly skeptical that the Titans would get a 1st rounder for Simmons. A 2nd rounder plus other picks or another player with it seems way more probable.

You're probably right. If the rumors are true that the Titans are asking for a 2nd it's because they know they won't get a 1st.

I don't want the Rams to give up a 2nd since we don't need him, but if they could get him for a 3rd, I'd like to see them do it despite such a move likely forcing them to not extend Turner or Young.

Are there really trade rumors out there?

I did a couple brief searches, and have yet to see anything credible.

There's a Sports Illustrated article asking whether Simmons 'should' be on the trade market.

Jeffrey Fowler ... who I am familiar with ... reported earlier ...
"The Titans don't want to trade Jeffery Simmons." I would be very surprised if they moved on from him,"
Fowler said. "Three guys I'm monitoring: Arden Key, Roger McCreary and Chig Okonkwo."

They probably aren't true because it would be really dumb to trade a player of his caliber. He's a foundational piece that you build around.

I agree, don't think they'll trade Simmons unless someone offers something substantial. Makes zero sense to me especially when they have Ward on a cheap rookie contract.

If the Rams went the WR route, I'd say look at Jakobi Meyers or Rashid Shaheed. I wouldn't think they'd cost as much in a trade.

Who knows. But I think bolstering your roster for a midround pick is a win.

Again though I don't think the Rams will get crazy with their draft picks because they may jump for a QB or other impact player with those two first round picks. So corner remains the priority, however if you can't fix that then giving the offense another big piece for more control of the field is a nice backup plan.
