Anderson will be the featured RB. No Harris, no Tutu, the 53 roster is built in their minds now. Next week is a formality to allow those players facing the cut to have film to show other teams.

It will be Duck at QB, and a bunch WRs that aren't going to make the cut, playing for a PS spot somewhere. I'm telling you now that Webster was a better WR than most of the guys I've seen out there.

Landen Akers is lightning fast (4.38) with good length (6') but runs poor routes. He would be a priority PS player. IMO the most interesting of the probable cut players is JJ Koski who is 6'1" and ran 4.44 at his pro day at SLO (Cal Poly SLO). Why? Because he was a triple threat QB in college. They can stash him on the PS as their #3 or 4 QB if things get that bad. Of all the WRs not going to make the cut I think Koski is the best. Akers is faster but Koski is fast enough and understands how to run a route tree.

The problem is a whole lot of the Rams castoffs will be signed by other teams. There is no guarantee Akers or Koski will clear waivers. There are many teams that are in need of #4 & 5 type WRs. Look how fast Reynolds got signed and Koski is better (faster, better hands and runs better routes).

They could also keep Koski as a RB since he did play that role in college. Or if they can work out Akers and Koski as KR specialists they could make the roster in that regard. My point is this. They have players already on the roster to fill holes. I already pointed out that they have a month or more to convert Scott to RB since he was a RB in college originally. The same could be said for Koski, who also can play WR and in a pinch a QB since a team will only have two active QBs on any given game day.

Though I think this COVID problem with the punters will make them think long and hard about carrying 3 QBs on the roster. I honestly don't think Perkins would clear waivers. There are many teams that would grab a running QB who can also play out of the pocket. If AZ had Perkins last year they might have made the playoffs. This is exactly why if they are only going to carry 2 QBs which with COVID around would be stupid, then Perkins would be the one they keep. His upsides are better than Wolford and why risk strengthening a division rival AZ team with a gift backup QB.

There is no doubt that these preseason games have altered the roster, which is exactly why they play them. Three games makes good sense and I think it's going to be permanent for a long time.
Honestly I hope Kodki makes the team he has been great in preseason a real standout. Akers has been real good as well. Tough decisions.

Preaseason with an ineffective backup OLine at run blocking so not much IMO to worry about.

I have to admit that I've been worried about the run game and still am. Just from that balance perspective and how that will look as we go into the playoffs. To be a championship team we're gonna need defense playing well too and all that, which is another concern for me for the same reason.

I don't want to be eliminated in the playoffs. I want a championship this year. So knowing what's at stake and how close this roster is it's really important those two areas are there for the Rams. Otherwise they're gonna come up short again and we'll have to watch some other team hoisting the Lombardi in LA.

So if we come out week one and run the ball up Chicago's gut and 3 'n out their asses on defense on the way to a blowout win I'm gonna feel a ton better. I think that's what I need at this point: a blowout win with the Rams hitting in all three phases. And from there I want to see them handle SF and the rest of the division. I mean dominance, like undefeated or damn close vs division.

I don't expect much right? :laugh4:

Since I don’t have the luxury of going to camp, I depend on our ROD brothers and sisters to give us the scoop.

I have yet to hear anyone say how outstanding the run game looks. Only Stafford hit someone here there everywhere.

Maybe once in a while Hendo broke one off. But, not enough to have confidence. And, after seeing McVay go snake shit crazy with Goff and the air game, what makes anyone think that’s not coming with Stafford????

Yeah it's possible man. McVay does get too aggressive, greedy even, at times with the pass. And Stafford will reward him more for doing that, so McVay is gonna have to reign himself in a bit.

But then again maybe he goes batshit pass happy early and we get big leads early in most of our games. So maybe it all clicks in a good way, that perfect storm type thing we saw in '99. We have the roster for that to happen.

So even though I do have concerns I'm also going crazy waiting for this season. Maybe I've worked myself up too much but I have the highest of expectations and I think the Rams do too.

Yeah.. I'm not sure that McVay will waste a preseason game trying to showcase players for other teams. This is the last time the coaches will get to evaluate and ultimately DECIDE on which bubble players get the final roster spots. JMHO, of course.
