I think the Rams are dangling Akers in any deal. Akers, a second round pick next year and a 2024 first and third round pick. Akers fills the hole left by the McCaffery trade. The same could be said for Chubb. Chubb doesn't have the injury history that would make me think twice. I think the Rams are probably shopping both the Broncos and Panthers. Just because it's not in the media doesn't mean the Rams aren't back rooming it. I think my friend in Denver was right that the Rams might have made an inquiry to the Broncos.

Personally, I would be ecstatic if the Rams can pull off a Burns trade. But I would be almost equally happy with Chubb. The Rams can afford Burn's cap hit this year and they can work out an extension for next year and beyond. IMO either Burns or Chubb would be the difference maker they need to complete the defense.

Shelton is scheduled back probably for the Cardinal or Saint games in Nov.

100% Agree

His injury history is as bad as CMC and he is a rental. Without a new contract I wouldn’t give anything more than Akers straight up.

A new contract would have to be mid-level at the highest, he just hasn’t been available enough to warrant more.

The defense is not in need of change at this point. OL and/or RB since Akers seems to be gone are bigger needs.

As I said earlier he isn't just a sack guy either he does everything well and he can seal the edges contain and to be honest that's a great way to counter act his former teammate that the whiners just got.

Yup I agree, if we can get an edge that makes our run defense and pass defense better, we should go for it. Our D is already performing well and if we add pressure to the front 4 to it without blitzing, doesn't matter what the bitch ass Whiners have, we will crush those bitches offense.

You could have said that about Saffold who also had injuries at Indiana and tons with the Rams but he somehow stopped having them.

Chubb had a left ACL tear and 3 grade 2 sprains, small shoulder and finger issue not great for sure but doesn't seem insurmountable considering everyone is blind to OBJs injury history especially 2 ACLs in 2+ years roughly.

Exactly he will our really good run D even better. On this team his sack totals will increase and he is on pace for 18-19 this year.

And we hope our offense add a Johnson or Gibson but if they can't get it together entirely like if the o-line struggles etc. Then with pressures your creating 3 and outs ints and hopefully strip sacks giving an inept offense a chance to come alive or just won ugly. 17-9 20-17 etc.

Agreed but he is 24 and an ascending prototypical OLB. It's his pressures people love he leads the league with 24 prior to the Rams.

One thing we all assume is the D is playing great well we have beaten 3 marginal teams. We need a stronger DLine rush and penetration to help out on the backend.

With no real qbs to picks us apart Murray doesn't count cause we rock his bug world more often than not and that Mariota nothing there and Carolina had absolutely no QB.

Only QB we did play with skill was Allen and we saw wt he did. You want to count Jimmy G only cause he plays like Dan Marino against us and we lost. We about to play better qbs the rest of the way and now Jimmy only has to throw it 3 yds instead of 4 and let his players do all the work! So yea edge please.

Edge Rusher really is the need at this point.

People pointing to the Interior Oline need to remember that Allen and Edwards were our starters last year and were more then serviceable even in the playoffs. If Shelton can match Corbett then our IOL matches last years. Jackson looks solid at LT and who know what we have in Skura as well.

I feel like Robinson will continue to get more comfortable as the Oline gets healthy and Jefferson along with the emergence of Skow and Powell puts the WR group in a good spot.

Our CB's look better this year with the youngsters so....

The need is really edge.

Same running backs as last year when we made our Super Bowl run as well.

They have Browning and now Gregory plus they have to pay Chubb who may NOT resign with them next year he is a UFA next off-season. They have only 5 draft picks next year none in the first or second round and they are 2-4 and Wilson is out against the Jets it looks like. They are in the toughest division in football so I think they could trade Chubb more than Carolina wants to trade a potential cornerstone in Burns.
Other than the AFC East being the toughest (that’s how bizarro world this season is), I agree

however, I wouldn’t trade a ton unless we had an agreement in place to extend/resign him

I guess I was referring to Floyd with the rams 9.5 sacks and 10.5 sacks

burns highest total ever is 9

just not a guy i see worth nuking 1st round picks for.

You're certainly entitled to that opinion, but please consider that Burns has 9 sacks in two of his 3 full seasons in the NFL, none of which has he had the pleasure of playing next to Aaron Donald. Floyd's sack totals without the benefit of playing with Donald were 7 in his rookie season, 4.5, 4 & 3 between 2016 and 2019. Floyd also has zero sacks in 6 games this season.

I'd love Chubb.. just depends on the price.

Who knows.. maybe if the Broncos go down again today, they realize they need to be in fire-sale mode.
