I have never heard this mentioned before, but I have been thinking this since the third game of the season. Gurley was lighter than he was the previous season, and hasn't got a 100 yard game since last year. sure, he has faced stacked boxes all year, but he just isn't the same guy to me.

PEDS?

Was he so good and came back from the ACL surgery running so well because of PEDS, and then quit taking them around the time he started sucking last year? All I know is the guy I see on the field is a pretender compared to last season.

He's developed some bad habits. It's a throwaway year as far as I'm concerned. Take the offseason and discover himself again.

I don't see the extra ummmmphhh kick in the Gurley like last season. Don't know whats going on in his head.

I doubt it. I'm sure it has everything to do with Rob Boras not actually knowing how to design running plays. Don't forget, the guy who designed the plays that had Gurley firing on all cylinders is no longer on staff. The 100 yard games stopped after he was fired.

I thought Gurley looked good today when he got his carries. Since we fell into such a big hole, we stopped running the ball and Gurley got taken out of the game.

I think he was better at a heavier weight though, as you say.

He doesn't look the same for some reason. He doesn't have that explosion. Maybe he's been nursing and injury all year. Don't know what to think.

Gurley had some good yards today... but he had huge hole at times.

He seems to get the bare minimum on every run.

He's not playing smart. So many times he just run into a wall of blockers rather than make a cut or bounce outside where there's nothing but green grass. He needs to get his shit together this offseason and come back ready next year.

Been saying it all season. Gurley is not the same player. Yeah the oline can do a better job but at some point you would hope to see him make something out of nothing. Star players do that. Gurley is not doing it.

His vision isn't the same as last year . Runs right into the pile sometimes .

Wild speculation.

Got to have holes to explode through. I still see the explosiveness. Penetration kills the run game and there has been way too much this year. The constant penetration has effected his vision and makes him less patient because he clearly doesn't trust this lines to hold their blocks . He's just running up where the play is designed if he lucky enough to face penetration.

Probably..I just know that he weighs less and is a shell of himself, like many in other juicers that go off PED's, is all I'm saying.

It is like Gurley isnt even trying to break long runs. Last year he lead the league or was near the top in yards after contact, this year he almost always goes down on first contact.

Also like to add. I like Gurley but this is why you dont invest 1st round picks into RBs anymore (especially top 10) unless hes like Barry Sanders good. You can find quality RBs in the 2nd round and on like David Johnson, Jay Ajayi, Devonta Freeman, Leveon Bell, Lesean McCoy. This is just a few non 1st round RBs. The list goes on and on.

Add in the fact they Babied him thru Camp, Fisher didn't want him to get hurt, and that Hurt His Play!!

I'm not sure how to define his struggles, but I can tell you when the camera spots him on the sideline, he always looks very pissed. I would never question his effort, but at what point do you as a player just say f it. We could be witnessing this kid's confidence disappear.

I just bought his jersey to wear for next week's game against the Patsies. Hope he shows up BIG!

He slimmed down this year to get quicker. I'd have him bulk back up for next year. Doesn't have the same power right now. But I don't blame the guy for not running himself into the ground for Fisher.
