I think you have to save him for the playoffs. Playoff seeding only matters so much, it’s the way you play in the games that matter most.

We need Gurley fresh, he did not look that way last game. Same with the older guys on the Oline.

Home field advantage isn’t gonna mean much if our players can’t play by that time.

Maybe rest Todd for tje next game and bring him on for some touches in the final game of the regular season.
Or failing that, give our backups some more carries at least. They need some game time.

Our third string RB is currently battling a shoulder injury as well. Gurley is probably going to have to play through this.

Only Gurley, the coaching staff, and the team doctors know if this is truly a minor injury that he can play through without risking further more serious injury (see Kupp coming back too fast), or if he really should be shut down. If it's the latter, we need to hold him out and rest him for the playoffs. We've clinched the division, so even if we lose out, we know the Rams will need him for the post-season, and the unfortunate reality is that we are not getting home field at this point so it's not like we have that to play for. I don't care how bad the RB depth is. Use Cooper there if necessary. Gurley needs to be able to contribute in the playoffs far more than we need to beat Arizona and San Fran.

They are absolutely playing for home field and a 1st round bye. They just have no realistic chance to get home field throughout the playoffs...The argument that the extra week off for the starters hurt in the 1st round last year is trumped by a firdt tound bye..I think getting Gurley and everybody's healthy and rested trumps holding them out as long as they can stay clear of playing the wild card weekend...
