was not injured enough to get so few touches. Been maybe the best offensive player in football for 2 seasons and got 14 total carries in the NFCCG and Super Bowl. If he’s not getting surgery here in the next few weeks than McVay has a lot of questions to answer.

He looked fine. As a matter of fact, there was ONE drive where it looked like McVay was going to start feeding him, and you could see him start to build up that engine....and then we abandoned him. Again.

How the hell do you have arguably the best offensive player in the entire league and just leave him sitting on the bench half the game? Oh, I'm sorry...because we wouldn't use him, it was more like 75% of the game, since the offense was so rarely on the field.

Is it one of those things where they were in their strategy meetings and went "hey, we'll not use our best offensive player. Bill will never see it coming!"?

Unless McVay comes to the podium and says “yeah Todd needs surgery and was really struggling to get thru these practices and games”, then he and the offensive staff have some major self reflection to do. Gurley is a generational talent and 14 carries total in the 2 biggest games of the past 15 years is inexcusable.

I have to believe there’s some hesitation on the part of the FO. It seems they are scared that something bad is about to happen to him health wise.

The only reason why I think Todd is probably hurt is because I feel like if he was healthy, he would’ve been going crazy on the sideline.

Yeah what happened was Sullivan's holding call that made it 2nd and 20 after Gurley's 1st down inside the Patriot 40.

That woulda put him at like 50 yards on 9 carries. CJ was 6 for 18. They better have some inside info about Gurley the public isn’t aware of.

Use "holding" in quotations, since that was a BS flag. But I'm talking earlier. Though that sequence was a bunch of crap. "Oh, it's 3rd and 20...let's surrender and do a no huddle rush!"

It was a terrible call

There is no way Todd Gurley is not hurt. I would bet only reason he has played the last few weeks is to keep teams from just focusing on taking away the pass. You don’t keep touches in the biggest game of the season from the best running back in football it just doesn’t happen.

Gurley was limping on the sideline. I think he was more than hurt and trying to soldier on like a champ.

That vertical attack by the DL doesn't work against us if Gurley has the speed and one cut to get to the edge. He doesn't.

I'm just glad that he didn't sustain an injury that affects next year.

If Gurley is healthy he deserves 20 touches MINIMUM.

Gurley was clearly hurt. It was unfortunately obvious watching the game. He didn't have the cutting ability that makes him such a threat in the passing game. You could see him visibly limping. On that throwaway Goff made where Gurley lined up at WR, you could see that he didn't have much juice coming out of his break and was limping on the way to the sidelines.

It sucks that we essentially lost both him and Kupp.

He had several explosive runs. Enough to warrant more touches. He looked much better than CJ. I appreciate that he might be hurt, but it’s the last game of the season and he’s your best offensive player. CJ is a nice addition but he’s not in the same class as Todd.
